I'd like to read your review then since I'm on the fence about seeing it.

Oh, you should definitely go see it. It was a really fun, feel-good type of movie. It's gonna make you laugh. And make sure you stay to watch the end credits.

Meryl Streep was great, of course. Amanda Seyfried was good too, and had a really nice singing voice. Julie Walters and Christine Baranski were hilarious.

And the guys, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth (Mr Darcy!) and Stellan SkarsgÄrd did a good job. They weren't as natural singers or dancers as the women, but did a good job all the same

I'm a huge fan of musicals, so I loved it

I love musicals, too.

Watching Pierce on talkshows...oy, I don't like his voice.

Thanks for the review. I do want to see it even if Pierce's voice makes me cringe a bit.

I'll just pretend Ewan is singing instead.

It was OK, but I did prefer Colin Firth's singing voice.

Hi, everyone, I'm back from vacation.
We had a great time, but it was a bit exhausting - glad to be home.

I'm hoping to see The Dark Knight this weekend.

Hello Szilvia! Where were you on vacation, if you don't mind me asking?

Madelen, it wasn't a tropical oasis or anything of the sort.
We visited my parents (4-hour drive, one way) for a birthday/housewarming party.
There was a lot of preparatory work involved, but it was all worth it.

I was able to rent a copy of Batman Begins, so I'm finishing that tonight.
Then tomorrow my sister and I will be seeing The Dark Knight.

Madelen, thank you so much for helping out here and esp. posting on the OT thread

While I was on vacation...I took my gf to see "Wanted", I had already seen it and liked it a lot, she hadn't. So we saw that movie...and we saw "Dark Knight".

I'll have to write a review...while I appreciate the gritty, emotional and dark side of the film, I felt that it was too long, and too "dark" so to speak. I had never left the theater after a "super hero" movie feeling so empty. Maybe that's what Christopher Nolan was going for? Obviously the cast was superb. Musical Score was excellent. Just a bit long and dark for my liking to say it was a great film for me would be a stretch. I would definitely give it 3 and half stars out of 5.

I loved The Dark Knight.
While it was, indeed, a long movie, I didn't find that a problem.
The actors were phenomenal.
The feel of the movie was most definitely dark and sinister...I was nearly speechless when it was finished...

I liked how TDK wasn't some campy comic book movie. I look at the Fantastic Four trailer and I just know it's too silly for me. TDK gave that genre more to work with.
