Battlestar Galactica - BSG 4x10 - "Revelations" (mid-season finale) Episode Discussion

Hello and welcome to the "Revelations" episode discussion thread:

The episode is scheduled to air on June 13, Friday at 10pm EST on the Sci-Fi channel. It will also be available to view at their website after it's aired on TV here in the US.

Brief Episode Description:
A band of rebel cylons hold President Roslin hostage, while attempting to lure the final five out of hiding aboard Galactica.

Remember, no actual episode discussion for those who have already seen the episode, please wait until Friday Night after it's aired on the East Coast

How long is the mid season break?

Craig: They're saying the last 10 episodes won't premiere until at the earliest, January.

what was with Earth? It was ugly and deserted, just like New Caprica.

Yup. It was post-apocalyptic Earth. I believe they showed New York City and part of the Brooklyn Bridge. The series takes place in the future.

How do we know that earth is OUR Earth? But what a sad place to come to. The worked so hard, came so far, fought so long, lost loved ones. They finally come together and reach earth. They cheer and are overcome by relief and happiness to land in that desolate place

What will the do now? Why do I have to wait till 2009?

Question: Was that Caprica Six that walked over to Tigh at the end on Earth?

I thought it was a great mid-season ender. At times I found myself holding my breath. Like when Tigh was confessing to Adama.

I have to think of this more. I just saw it and my mind is still trying to digest it all.

I think it's ironic that they were at war with each other for so long and then they finally get to Earth and it's a wreck. I assume they'll work together to rebuild it and then they'll probably find some survivors.

The constellations lined up... it's totally Earth, our Earth. Just burnt out and post-apocalyptic.

Loved the episode, but am a bit lost for words.

I don't know what to think about D'Anna not mentioning who the final cylon was, and how they're not with the fleet. Is that cylon dead? Or is she holding out... or does she not physically know the person?

Earth. Wow, I had always thought that when they found earth they'd be welcomed with nuclear war out of fear of alien invasion... looks like the fleet was late, though.

Yup, she had her hand on her stomach, walked past Baltar straight to Tigh.

Did anyone see Tyrol on Earth... he was the only character slightly happy. Almost like he was thinking how ironic earth was.

And Tory totally tried to get comfort from Anders and he blew her off.

And Leoben was staying with Kara on Earth. The only smile that light up my face during that ending, cause OMG.

She saw the final five at the opera house. I was thinking, she said the final cylon was not with the fleet, that could mean the final cylon is on the base star or maybe on Earth

It didn't make much sense.

And how ironical is it that they found Earth, but it's post nuclear war Earth?

What a finale!

, I didn't think we would see what we did.

Now the first major shock for me was when D'anna said that out of the final 4, only 4 are in the fleet, now where the hell is the 5th one!, they got me really puzzled, but does she mean the fleet as in the battlestar, or the fleet as a while, including the Quo'rum, because if it is, who the hell is left. Unless it's someone who has died, naaa that can't be it.

I had a feeling Tory would be the first one to go over, and great that D'anna introduced her to the other cylons and also Tory telling Laura who she was, lol at Balter saying he had a feeling yeah right.

Second shock was Tigh telling Adama who he was. OMG that scene and the one of Adama just losing it was awesome beyond belief. MH and EJO just ruled that. Tigh has got so much balls for doing that and the pain Tigh was going through and what he had to do, and taking everything like the man/cylon he is, Tigh love ya man. Adama just losing everything like that, OMG, he lost his best friend and his beloved is still hostage on the other ship, and the way he lost it and also Lee trying to get the Admiral back and he knew he couldn't. What. A. Scene.

Now Lee, I really liked in this. Yes had problems everyone calling him President, because there is only one

. He had the balls when needed.

I thought Lee took a hell of a gamble calling a truce with the Cylons, because I thought it would backfire, both of them going to Earth, but no so far it hasn't.

Now the 3rd shock and the biggest one of all, WHERE THE FRAK ARE THEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It certainly isn't Earth, it can't be, unless they've gone to Earth set in the future or years in the past, I was thinking there was going to be a cliffhanger, but when I saw Earth, I thought maybe there wasn't, but this OMG, they are in some deep serious crap now.

What the hell is going to happen and I can't wait till 2009!, I can't wait till next week, let alone next year,!!!! FRAK

Baltar could have very well had a feeling about Tori. He tends to know when something is off. Besides, doesn't it strike anyone as strange that both Cylon and humans turn to him?

Baltar is the final cylon. I believe it and you should as well. Trust in me, because I might be wrong (I accept that possiblity) but at least my choice makes sense with this episode! (Besides, I'm me.

Remember Cobalt? "All this has happened before. And all this will happen again." ..... Perhaps Earth shared the same fate as that planet, I mean look at the ruins!

I'm being lazy and posting what I had on another forum:

"Loved this episode. Every shot from the previews and sneak peeks unfolded in a much more interesting way than I could have imagined. Every character redeemed themselves. Every actor did a very good job. I loved seeing how everyone in the fleet reacted when it was announced that they had reached earth.

Fantastic."

Because so much was in this episode not everyone could get as much screen time as I would have liked -- not much Caprica 6, where was Zarek? Loved seeing Gaeta and Dualla in CIC again.

Every episode this season had to be cut way back to fit in the time slot. Hope when they make the dvds they put all the scenes back in. On that note, the final episode will be 2 or 3 hours instead of just 1 since they shot so much footage wrapping everything up.

I don't know how to take it either. I'm just going to wait and see since any of the things you mentioned could be what's going on.
