Quote:
Now onboard Galactica, Baltar faces charges of treason. He contemplates suicide with the help of Number Six. Questions remain about his true identity. Is he a Cylon or isn't he?

It was interesting to see the different interrogation techniques they used.

Anyone have any ideas what Baltar whispered to Gaeta at the end?

So, anyone think Gaeta is a cylon? Or is that too obvious to be true? Did he give away the camera on purpose so that Baltar would not give away any cyclon secrets or did he just screw up?

Something else about last Sunday's episode, Bill and Laura seemed awfully cozy at the end. Hmmmm
I think that is all I posted on the other board about this episode.

Additional thoughts: it was nice to see Dr. Cottle again; I was a little surprised Sharon, Helo & Hera were absent; the interrogations were interesting and not as disturbing as I would expect – though seeing Roslin screaming at Baltar while they were pretending to haul him off to an airlock and then suddenly seeing her and the others calming discussing how that particular technique resulted in no answers was a little jarring. Am I remembering that right or is my sleep deprived brain malfunctioning again?

Also, no clue what Baltar was whispering to Gaeta unless Gaeta is a cylon and Baltar knows it and that is what he whispered. Or Baltar suspects Gaeta is and wanted to see what he would do. Maybe Six told Baltar what to say and we just were not privy to the Six/Baltar conversation.

Cannot form coherent thoughts. Maybe sleep will help. Doubt it.

Or it had something to do with what Gaeta perhaps did or did not on New Caprica?

Good episode this

Did like the Balter stuff more and also don't mess with Laura, she sure gave him the smackdown!, like how dark that Roslin and Adama went to try and get info out of Balter.

I just wish the Lee/Kara etc stuff is now settled with

EJO did a fab job directing

Whatever they do with it, please put them together or make it clear that it's over.

Due to Gaeta's reaction, I am of the mind that Baltar accused him of being a Cylon, but I guess we won't know for sure for a few episodes. Whatever it was, it had to be pretty bad for my man Gaeta to stab Baltar with a pen.

Alright, some thoughts, it's not too late.

Overall I would say out of 5. So a pretty good episode, but there were things that I didn't like.

The Good: The whole main storyline with Gaius on Galactica now, Rosilyn and Adama interrogating him. Just the way it was written, shot, acted out...brilliant. You felt right in there with them in the room, the scenes sucked you in. I thought that James was excellent, I feel that he does better as an actor when he's around Tricia, James Olmos and Mary McDonald. They have just developed this unique chemistry/push and pull off each other. Having Gaeta, first save him and then sent in to ask questions, I could see that when the episode started. I have a bad feeling about all of this, b/c I can't lie, Gaeta is one of my favorite supporting characters on the show much like Dee and I don't want him to be killed off, or in trouble, esp. after almost being executed early this year. I wish he would have snapped earlier and reminded Baltar about the order that he signed. That would have quickly blown up the phsycological stuff that Baltar was trying to pull with him. He was too passive IMO. So when he stabbed him, my only regret is that he didn't finish the job. Stab him in the eye next time, at least Tigh won't be the only pirate looking dude then

The scene with Galen Tyrol and Lee at the bar. It was the only bar scene that I enjoyed and that wasn't filled with angst. Good to hear that other couples are having problems too, not just Kara/Anders & Lee/Dee. Those two get pushed to the front so much this season. Plus it was a nice way of mentioning Callie and their baby.

The "edited" scene between Caprica Six and Rosilyn. What a stupid decision to take it out of the episode, I mean they used time to air it anyways, so why did they do that? My guess is they originally ran long, had to cut it, but Ron and David wanted it in, so they used their pull to get it "ready" at the last moment. I mean it was a wonderful scene, should have kept it in. Made them look bad for having to do that, showing it out of order, b/c we all were wondering where is she on Galactica? Sharon's former cell being put to use again. It's almost impossible for it to remain empty forever

The Bad: All of the relationship drama Enough is enough. Those scenes made me feel bad for all of these characters and the direction taken with them. First, it makes Dee look great for finally telling off Lee and dumping his backside, but then she takes him back at the very end!!! What the Frak? Way to walk all over her, yeah we know she loves him but guess what, love does indeed have it's limits in real life. Now, I don't know if living on board the BSG counts as real life, but hey what do I know?

It made Lee look line an a**. Completely, all the sympathy is gone. At first, I was kind of just blaming Kara, but now Lee is just or even more guilty for this whole mess. This whole high school crap about "if you leave person 'A', I'll leave person 'B', but I'm not leaving them if you don't leave yours first?" is so ridiculous, it made me wonder what are they doing to the show!

Just make a decision, why is it so hard? Why? You can deal with it, 1-2 episodes at the most and then move on. They have been dragging out all season long. It's very disrespectful to the fans and a waste of our time, when we know eventually Kara and Lee will end up together, b/c that was their plan all along. Just prolonging what they have planned.

Doesn't Anders have any self respect left? I mean he's a good looking guy, I'm sure he'll find someone with less emotional issues and he'd be much happier in the long run. Plus, I'm expecting him to join the marines on BSG so he can be on the ship full time Then I'm expecting him to be killed off later on this season, and Starbuck will once again become a raging alcoholic...and Lee will come to the resque finally leaving Dee or does it really matter.

The Ugly: The whole soap opera stuff with Lee/Dee/Kara/Sam....If I wanted to watch a soap, I would!

Alex

I agree with pretty much all of that post, especially the Lee/Starbuck/Anders/Dee stuff. I'm sooooo ready for that to be over.

I mean who isn't? Find me one fan, just any fan who is enjoying this? That's what is so bad about this. I mean we are kind of going through the same thing with SV right now, as far as couples.

What the writers/creative team needs to do is pick a direction, and not worry about pleasing any specific fanbase or try to appease to all by switching around constantly.

One episode, Lee is leaving his wife and loves Kara, the next he isn't...I mean does it get more high school than that? And speaking for most of us, high school wasn't the best time of our lives was it?

Well, the recapper at Television Without Pity likes that storyline, but he's the only one I've found.

I noticed that SV seemed poise to pull out the old L/C scenario for the millionth time. You'd think that writers could be more creative.

Yeah, that's the least credible source for me, I can't stand their "reviews" much.

Yes...I'm telling you, if you want, you and I can apply for writting jobs on SV next season, if they don't clean house after this season...I don't know what else we are going to do as SV and sci-fi fans in general.

On a seperate matter...ratings wise, BSG has been pulling in between 1.6-1.8 million viewers on it's new timeslot/ Sunday Nights...which sci-fi channel is happy with, although they do expect over a 2.0 once the "word gets out" b/c more people are at home on Sundays, and they watch more TV versus Friday Night.

If you look at the competition...You've got a female oriented show on ABC...Crossing Jordan on NBC if I'm not mistaken...and I guess one of those Cold Case/Crime Shows on CBS. FOX doesn't have a 10-11pm program on Sunday, so the door is wide open for BSG to draw in new viewership.

I really don't like what they're doing with Gaeta, he mostly seems to me like the only normal and sane person who is allowed to work on the Galactica. I love the others, but Gaeta is the only guy that I still picture doing a normal life.

It would be a great start if one of them would start acting like an adult. But I don't have high hopes.
And that from a Lee/Kara shipper....

Nad, other than Gaeta, I felt that Dee before all the stuff this season and to some extend Helo were the only "normal" or people that we can most relate to on BSG. I do feel that Baltar will be trouble for Gaeta in the long run, just can't figure out in what way. Hey, that's a good cliffhanger.

Well, Dee acted like an adult until she took Lee back at the end of the episode. That was about it. Lee was the biggest disappointment for me, and that's a role usually reserved for Kara.

Gaeta is one of my fave supporting characters and I don't want him killed etc either, but right now things are not looking good for him. I agree with Chrissy that he's one of the few I picture having a normal life, he seems so 'normal' and on the other hand that is exactly what has me worrying Somehow I think his time with the Baltar 'adminstration' on New Caprica might come back to haunt him again Now if we just knew what Baltar was telling him in their last scene...

Acting like adults would definitely help - and I'm a Lee/Kara shipper too

As Alex said, the writers need to make a decision where they want to take this whole scenario ASAP - otherwise it gets even more ridiculous than it already is
