Hey everyone! Happy weekend!

Had a doctor appointment this morning. Got a big mole removed on my back. It was not that much fun and now I'm not allowed to lie on my back until tomorrow... Hurrah!
Also, don't read if you have a weak stomach, but the smell of burnt flesh is not something I'd like to smell again....

Ykes!

It's still up in the air if I need those injections in my neck. When I went to physical therapy on Thursday, the therapist told me that I'm doing very well and he's just going to end it when the script I have from the doctor expires which is on the 20th (hey, that's my birthday. No really, it is). I might be fine for a few months or so afterwards but then I know things will get bad again and the doctor will have to send me to get the injections.

Been kinda bummed lately. Mostly because of the fact that my birthday is coming up and so far the only things I've gotten are discount coupons for my favorite stores. I'm also pretty bummed because my old friend from high school forgot about my birthday coming up. I would of gotten a card by now but nope...nothing. This is also the same so-called friend that is getting married in two months. I have a sinking feeling she is not inviting me to the wedding because proper etiquette says that you send the invites no later than three months prior to the intended date.

That has me upset because my family and i were very nice to her. We treated her like she was family. We opened our home to her, we took her with us on road trips to the shore and Hershey Park. We even invited her and her parents to both my sister's and brother's weddings! And this is how she's going to thank us?! It's not right, I tell you. Sometimes I have the thought that I should go over to her house and give the girl a piece of my mind (she lives across town from me). It also upsets me because I know she's going to invite this other friend who wasn't as nice as I was to her and I talk to that friend on Facebook. I know if she goes to the wedding, she's going to post pictures and what not on FB. That'll hurt me if I see that.

So yeah, I'm kind bummed.

Marie - a true friend would never leave you out of something or make you feel bad about anything or yourself. If yor not invited to this gathering try to do something seriously fun on that day instead. Don't let one person/event bring you down don't give them that power.

A friend told me that I should write all this out in the form of a letter. I did that but I don't have the courage to mail it. Mostly because why should I REALLY bother. She won't answer it. I mean, she never answered my e-mails nor did she answer the letters I sent her before.

It hurts me so much to think that someone could actually do this stuff.

Easier said than done. I mean, this is the first person I was in a friendship of any kind with. And now to know that she just used me really stings. You know what kills me the most? When we were younger, we were both picked on by the popular kids who were so mean spirited. Now she's become just like those popular kids.

There are days I actually want to go to her house (she still lives where she grew up) and tell her what I REALLY feel. I don't because of fear that her and her parents would call the cops on me. Well, either that or I know my mom would stop me.

I just wish I had a distraction right now. I mean, around this time, I would be preparing for the Arthritis Walk in Philadelphia which is roughly around the time of this girl's wedding. I can't do it this year because I've been having serious back and neck problems (I know I'll end up in the hospital for injections for one of those by year's end..I can feel it). So I have no distraction.

I'm so sad that I'm actually at a stage where I just want to give up on everything. I'm supposed to go to the endocrinologist tomorrow and I am at a point where I don't care if he tells me that my thyroid is on the fritz again. I'm also at a stage where I feel so unloved. It's gotten me that depressed.

Not to sound harsh, but why would you want to maintain a "friendship" with someone like that. This is not something that friends do. I'd rather have no friends than one that treated me or anyone else like that. It's not worth getting involed or staying in a one sided relationship of any kind. Why would you want to keep that kind of person in your life?


It'd be in your best intrest to let her be a part of your past and not your future. Don't waste your time or energey on something that is clearly toxic. Life is to short to waste on things like that.

You know awhile back I went through a scary health issue and I thank God everyday I had people who made that time in my life a lot less scary including the ladies here, that listend when I need to just vent. if anyone of them had treated me like what you have said this person treats you I'd have droped them in a flash no matter what I was dealing with. It's not healthy physically or mentaly to worry about people like that because they don't care about anyone but themselvs.


health issues are hard and all you can do it take it one day at a time and not worry about what's gonna happen because we can't control it. if you have to get shots be thankful that there is a treatment for your illness and focus on that. Think about all the people who don't have that option and then think about how truly blessed you actually are. There are blessing in your life that you need to focus on rather than just the bad. If you find thoes and appreciate them for whatthey are you'll feel better about the thngs in yor life.

Don't let others determin your happiness or selfworth the world will always be a sad lonly place if you do that.

We alll hold the power to our own happiness don't give anyone else that kind of control.

Marie, you really need to stop comparing yourself to others and depending on others. You are the maker of your own happiness and you have to love yourself first. There is nothing wrong with who you are and what you do, and if others, so called friends, don't see that, it is their loss.
Really, I know it's hard and difficult and no one should be treated like you are, but stand up for yourself, say stop! And this person is not your friend, and you should tell her how much she has hurt you, why not write her a letter, I think that is a good idea.
Because that way, you can express your feelings and maybe she did not know you feel that way it was all a big misunderstanding!

I can understand about going through scary health stuff. That happened to me back in 2003. I had an ovarian mass the size of a melon. It was so bad that the doctor's were fearing cancer up until they removed it (they found out it was just dead tissue). Sadly I had no one to vent to. I was a college kid who was alone in the world. My friends wouldn't understand and my family was pretty much your traditional stoic Irish types.

And how can you love yourself when your whole life you've been told that you're a big epic failure? And I don't mean by family (okay, so my brother used to always say that) but I mean by other important people. Just wondering.

I'm actually getting ready to go to the train station right now. My endocrinologist is in Philadelphia, so I have to take the train there (of course I have to get a bus from 30th Street because the hospital is nine or ten blocks away on 39th and Market). I only hope that it's good news.
