| My Mushy Post. I've been gone for awhile. Real life or fandom or changing ideas can sway an interest. But it does not change the heart. When I first watched Hairspray I knew something good was going to come from it. Whether it was simply enjoyment or careless hours I could spend watch a fairytale that rang both true and sad and hopeful. It turned out to be so much more. I found a place here. If for a while or a moment, that's fine because that while, that moment, is a memory and one I keep with me, to show me, to remind me and still me, that for everyone that feels they are the only one. There is always people to be found. And an interest to be shared. And a life to be a part of. The greatest part of the Zac and Nikki thread isn't simply Zac or Nikki, not for me. It isn't the chance, that missed more than twice, to find my love of writing or laughing or enjoying the company you choose to keep. It's those memories. That continue to go and that have faded to a sweet rememberance of the then. I found you all here. And that is the magic of it. The joy of it. The purpose of it. Beyond what you were thinking in the start. Of want you knew at the beginning. I've met some of the greatest people in the world. How are beautiful and intelligent and stunning in everything they do. I've eaten lunch with them, slept ten feet away from them. I've shared songs and pictures and stories, even beyond the fanfiction. And I've 'met' those who I've shared late nights and secrets, beyond even what I'd tell my family. They've been with me, through the sorrows and joys of my day to day life. And they are the reason I never give up on this thread or this couple. Because I see them, always, as I saw them that night years ago, when I watched the movie for the first time. With never ending possiblity. And I have the friends and family I've met here, to think for that. So thank you, Zikki thread. For 450 threads of love. In all the kinds of ways it exists and all the ways you can feel it. Ley. __________________ Beauty is easy to want, greatness is simple to admire. | My 450th Thread Mushy Post Four hundred and fifty threads. Over one hundred thirty-four thousand posts. All over the course of two years. These statistics are simply amazing to me. I've said it once and I'll say it again, this is quite possibly the friendliest thread I've ever had the pleasure of posting on in all my years as a messageboard user. And what makes this place special is not who we ship but instead its uniqueness centers around the fact that we have managed to build true friendships that extend beyond a computer screen. We are the true definition of a family, one that shares interests, overcomes challenges, and comes out stronger because of it. For that, we should be proud. On a more personal note, I know I say this each time a milestone comes around and you're all probably waiting for me to get new material but I feel the need to say it again. I truly believe my finding this place was fate (with a little help from Jen and Nonna) of course. When I stumbled upon this thread I was going through the difficult transition from college back to life in my hometown. It was rough with most of my high school friends gone and this place was just what I needed. You all have given a list a mile-long list of memories that I never would have had if the Zikki thread didn't exist. You all have accepted me unconditionally and supported me without hesitation. But, most importantly, you've given me something that I haven't experienced many times in my life. Normalcy. I'll never forget standing at that overlook on Mulholland in LA as we took pictures and feeling completely at peace. Because, even if only for four days, I was able to forget my physical challenges and focus on having fun with people who knew me and appreciated me for what was on the inside, eccentricites and all  . That meant more to me than any of you will ever know and I can never adequately repay any of you for it. I've always said that if I ever had the opportunity to meet Zac or Nikki I'd thank them first for being part of a beautiful movie that has inspired me and many others to look beyond differences and champion for acceptance. Then I would thank them for creating the vehicle that brought each and every one of you into my life. And though I've been told that I spend too much time on the computer, which is entirely true, I can't imagine a better group of people to spend it with. You guys are my second family and I love you . Jess: What can I say? We truly are Soulmates. I'll never forget when we met and you just ran up and hugged me. From then on, we just seemed to click and you've been there for me without hesitation, even on days when I didn't feel worthy of your friendship. I can never thank you enough for all that you have done for me. I love you. Christi:You are such an inspiration to me. You work insanely hard, more than anyone should, and still you're always there with a little something to make me laugh or with a listening ear when I need advice. And though the timing gods seem to be testing us as of late, I know we will see each other again soon. I can't wait! I love you. Kayla: I'm not sure if you'll ever get the opportunity to see this, but I just couldn't do a mushy post without including you. It just wouldn't be right. You are an amazing person and I'm just waiting for the day I see you on your first major red carpet. You are insanely talented and don't ever let anyone tell you differently. And, even though we don't get a chance to talk much, I will always cherish your friendship and be thankful that I had an opportunity to meet you. I love you. Jen: You are an amazing person and and I am forever grateful that I had an opportunity to meet you. I love you. Nonna:If it hadn't been for you asking me if I knew about this thread (and that ever so gentle push from Jen) I would never had discovered the place that has become my second home. The way you express yourselves, whether it be with fiction, mushy posts, or art is simply beautiful. If it weren't for the two of you I would have never had the opportunity to re-discover my love for writing. You've created a monster but along the way my writing has allowed me to express some of my inner-most feelings in a way I never thought possible. So thank you for giving me the courage to open and explore that part of my soul.
