A couple of weeks ago, The Rock told us a little bit about a potential live-action “Jonny Quest” movie that he and “Race to Witch Mountain” director Andy Fickman are circling. According to the big guy, there’d been discussions with ‘it’ boy of the moment Zac Efron about playing the title role.

I caught up with Efron today in Melbourne, where he’s promoting the upcoming “17 Again”, and managed to question the actor about his potential involvement in the film.

So a “Jonny Quest” movie is still a couple of years away then?

“Most definitely”, says the amiable actor.

For those that don't recall, the animated series (first aired in the 60s) told of a boy, 11-year-old Jonny, who accompanies his father, Dr. Benton Quest, on extraordinary adventures. Fearing Jonny could end up in the wrong hands, a special agent / bodyguard / pilot from Intelligence One Government, Race Bannon, is hired to guard and train him.

Zac Efron will play the title role, with Dwayne Johnson as his Race Bannon

I had uni tonight and I kept trying to pick up enough signal on my phone so I could be looking up premiere pics and stuff but alas, I had to wait til just now when I get home and ..... Eeep! Holden! Bet you're glad you came up for the Sydney one then, huh? Was it crazy in volume of people or craziness or a combination of both? I'm still perplexed as to the lack of people in Sydney (in contrast to other events) it isn't like he's been advertising the Melbourne premiere during his promo.

I also find the whole Sydney formal Melbourne casual trend he seems to be forming to be interesting. I wonder if there is logic behind that. I like the blue on him though.

It wasnt scissors, it was a list of where he could find scissors!

I am completely okay with the long hair when it looks like this!

It's interesting how he has so little to say about future projects right now, I wonder if everything is as ambiguous as he makes it sound or if he's just being tight-lipped; I'd love it if some random, good project came out of left field; I'm really interested to see what path Zac takes next.

But as for now, I absolutely cannot wait to see 17 Again! I even took that Friday off from work
