Leonardo DiCaprio is someone whose career path I would love to emulate.
The problem is there's not enough scripts about giant boats sinking that are immersed in a love story.
I can't find that script. I'm thinking of writing Titanic 2."

A few months ago Efron was spotted sitting alongside Leonardo DiCaprio at a Los Angeles Lakers game.
"It was a complete fluke we sat next to each other, but it turned out to be the best thing that happened to me," he says.
"Leo, for me, was the first time I ever recognised fame.
I was in fifth grade when he was literally on every magazine cover for Titanic and all the girls had these Tigerbeat magazines
and I'd say, 'Dude, what's so great about that kid?' I was jealous.
I mean, you couldn't help but hate the guy. And now, to some degree,
I've made it and I'm going through the same thing.

"But it was hard to talk to Leo that night because you're at a game
and there's a million photographers and you're just trying to enjoy the game.
He said a couple of small things but he suggested we talk outside of the game which I plan to take him up on.
But it was a pretty weird encounter to meet this person whom I'd grown up hating,
to now just completely loving his body of work.
I mean, its pretty miraculous for him to have gone from that position to doing all the incredibly diverse films he does today.
That's the kind of career I would like for myself."

I never had celebrity crushes but I do, I do remember teen magazines. I was like oh what is this phenomenon, teen magazines. And at that time it was just, Titanic has just come out.Leonardo DiCaprio. It was weird! As much as you liked the guy and you liked the movie, being a young guy with these girls fawning all over him, you kind of just inanely hated him.

DICAPRIO: That's the interesting thing about being an actor. You are also a public figure. Early on I made it my policy that a certain amount of publicity is good — you promote your job, you do your movie, you retain your private life, you don't divulge everything about yourself. And when I see younger actors getting a tremendous amount of publicity, I say to myself, Well, they've been given an unbelievable opportunity, and I hope they know within themselves that all that really matters at the end of the day is the work. All this noise and attention will absolutely deteriorate and there will be a new, fresh piece of meat for the media to focus on within less than a year's time. So what they should do at this moment is work their asses off to prove to the public and prove to themselves that they can absolutely have a long-term career.

Looking to more seasoned actors, whose career would you most like to emulate?

I think Leonardo DiCaprio's done a great job. I was dead set against the guy when I was growing up,
kind of force-fed his image from Titanic. Since then, through very hard work and incredible performances,

And I was actually talking about this with Lanie last night how this quote below has to be my favorite out of all of them because he goes to great detail on how he met him/then hung out w/ him at the game. I've never seen him give that kind of retelling story like that before
