One last post before I sleep

I think it was this thread we were talking about what the next awards show was so we could get more awesome super-6 photos

But I was just looking around and found out that Grammy nominations were released today.

Unfortunately HSM was not nominated

How do Grammy nominations usually work? Should we all feel a little snubbed by this decision as the CD was the highest selling CD of the year...or are Grammy awards only for solo artists/bands?

Yep, Grammy Nominees are out and on this page, it lists the 5 albums that are up for Best Soundtrack.

I'm not sure how I feel about HSM not being nominated for this category. A part of me wants to say 'What? Are you kidding me? These are teenagers that sold more than Mary J. Blige for the whole year and she gets eight nominations but none for them!' and another part of me sees the difference in the HSM Soundtrack being just a soundtrack with no real big names on it too.

And I think we've entered the Lauren Graham rule of the Grammy's. Maybe. What's everyone else's opinion?

That kinda sucks. I was really hoping for a Grammy nomination either.

And I don´t really get it. Is it because it´s a teen soundtrack? That can´t really be the reason. I mean like you guys already said, it was the highest selling CD of the year. A nomination for best soundtrack would be the least I expected.

Let´s hope for some Golden Globe nominations. I love these awards, although I don´t know if the categories are fitting.

I want to see the 6 together asap.

Singer-actress Ashley Tisdale, star of the top-rated TV movie, "High School Musical", will release her debut album, "Headstrong," on Warner Bros. Records February 6, 2007. The 14-track CD showcases this multi-talented artist's independent streak, and will entertain her legions of loyal fans with its upbeat pop/rhythmic groove sound.

Tisdale turned to a host of top-notch songwriters and producers who have given her natural pop exuberance an urban edge, including Jonathan "J.R." Noted hit-maker trio, The Matrix (Britney Spears, Hilary Duff) co-wrote and produced several songs, including the title track, Tisdale's 'independence anthem' "Headstrong," and the indelible, rhythmic "So Much For You." Other collaborators include Guy Roche and Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera) on the buoyant "Positivity" and the orchestrated ballad "Unlove You"; up-and-coming Swedish production team Twin on the playful "Going Crazy" and the dancefloor-friendly "Be Good To Me", which was co-written by Kara DioGuardi (Gwen Stefani, Ashlee Simpson); legendary songwriter Diane Warren on the mid-tempo "Love Me For Me"; and Tisdale's "Kiss the Girl" producer Mark Hammond, who produced the tender love song "We'll Be Together", written by Peiken.

With co-writer credits on three tracks, Tisdale was determined to record songs that touched her personally and that contained lyrics she could identify with. So there are soundtrack nominations! I guess the list I saw didn't have all the nom's on it

But not nominated? Gesh! And some of those other ones that were nominated I was thinking, they made a CD for that this year? Gah! I guess the Grammy's always seem to be more "serious".

I'm very interested to hear the rest of Ash's album. Although the "Last Christmas" bonus track is a bit odd. I mean ok if it was released before Christmas, but can you imagine having the CD, playing it and then suddenly a Christmas song coming on?

Half those nominees on the list, I have no idea who they are.

I can't believe they didn't get a nomination! I mean, in the very least, we could have gotten an nom for HSM "Best Musical Album For Children" or something.

HSM got robbed I tell you!

I'm not sure if I'd buy Tizz's album, but it definitely sounds interesting. She's got some really good writters for her songs. From the clips that I heard, there wasn't really any that I could immediately say, "Oh yeah, I like this one," but I'm definitely interested in seeing whatelse she's got up her sleeves.

Wait, she's putting "Kiss the girl" on her album... like the Disney song she redid? If so, I'm finding that a tad weird, considering Disney would have probably asked her to do it, and it's not as if she's with Hollywood, and they're associated with Disney...

I'm not sure how I feel about HSM not getting nominated. Part wants to say that Sm deserves to be nomintated, but another part of me says that they, as an album and singers, have only been around for not even a year and they haven't really been here long enough for a Grammy.

Sorry, if that doesn't make sence.

And I'm surprised that Tizz has Kiss the Girl on her album. It just seems a little weird to me. And I like Last Christman, but I don't think I'm going to buy the album. Maybe if I really like her first single I might.
