<b>

High School Musical 1 gave us the story of Troy Bolton, basketball playmaker and East High's hottie
superbum, and his journey to discovering more about himself. Fate played its part in unveiling Troy's
undiscovered passion and talent for music and the art of performance. Ultimately Troy proves
triumphant, proving that you don't need to be defined by the status quo of any particular stereotype.

Troy's journey in High School Musical 2 takes him to a scary place - contemplating his future. What
began as a fun and productive way to spend his summer - working with his friends - became a
moral dilemma. Balancing friends and fun with the opportunities provided by the Redhawks and a
promotion was harder than anticipated, and Troy began to question his life priorities. He
learns the value of remaining true to oneself.

The pressures of senior year and making decisions about the future are prevalent in High School
Musical 3, where Troy is faced with deciding where he will be after college. His life path had always
been set in stone - to follow in his fathers footsteps by playing basketball at the University of
Albuquerque. However when faced with alternate prospects - such as pursuing his love of theater,
or attending one of the other schools who've contacted him - Troy must cast aside the expectations
everyone else has for him and make the decision which is right for him.

Mrs. Bolton: “Did we really fly all this way to play more basketball?”
Troy: “Yeah.”

Sharpay: “Troy usually doesn’t interact with new students. It’s pretty much basketball 24/7 with him.”

“My parents’ friends are always saying: Your son’s the basketball guy, you must be so proud.”

Mr. Evans: “I’ve seen Troy play basketball; I think the U of A Redhawks would be very interested in him.”

“Playing with them is like being in another world.”

“Just get me the ball.”

“Just call me freaky call back boy.”

“No one said anything about leotards.”

“I’m talking about hanging out with friends, doing nothing and singing for fun.”

Ms. Darbus: “Evidently Juilliard has heard of you.”

Gabriella: “Troy I’ve watched you in rehearsals, you love it. Why is that so hard for you to admit?”

Ms. Darbus: “The stage can be a wonderful partner in the process of self discovery. You seem very comfortable up there.”

Gabriella: “Seems to me like everyone on campus wants to be your friend.”

“Brothers fight, and they’re still brothers.”

“I’m more interested in what my friends think of me, and what I think of myself.”

“This was my idea, she had nothing to do with it.”

“My friend has something to say.”

“East High is having friends that we’ll keep for the rest of our lives.

“I can’t sing. No, you go. Look, I don’t sing, I can’t sing. Guys!”

“Sometimes I don’t wanna be the basketball guy, I just wanna be a guy, you know?”

“I already told you, singing really isn’t my thing.”

“My singing career began and ended with the East High winter musical.”

“All part of the frightening concept called our future.”

“I’m only as good as whatever happens next season.”

“I always liked the idea of being in charge of my future.... until it started happening.”

Ms. Darbus: “Mr. Bolton. Your future?” “Oh yeah, um, you know um, um, I’m thinking about...”

“I haven’t talked to anyone about this, but I’ve had offers from other colleges, and I’m listening.”

“I’m not a little kid anymore dad. You raised me to make my own choices and I need to make them.”

“Yeah sure, my showerhead is very impressed with me.”

Gabriella: "Why are you hiding behind a mop?"

“Exclamation point!”

“Cramp, I need a lifeguard!”

"The garden club is rooting for you."

"Someone order a pizza pie?"

Chad: “In two weeks we’re going to the championships with you leading us to infinity and beyond.”

Jack: “You’re not just a guy Troy. You’re the team leader. What you do affects not only this team but the entire school.”

“Now this is only going to happen if we all work together. Now who’s in?”

Chad: “You’re the guy who usually knows what’s up.”

“We’ve got a hoop out back, two free meals a day and we only have to wear these stupid outfits on duty. All for one and one for all. This is our summer. Now what team?”

“Maybe we can work this out, but only, if we’re all in this together.”

“We’re all gonna remember the next 16 minutes for a long time after we leave East High, so it’s now or never.”

“I’m in... it’ll be fun!”

Taylor: “Oh my Gosh! Isn’t Troy Bolton just the hottie super bum?!”

Jack: “Never be ashamed of attention as long as you’ve earned it.”

“I’m not gonna stop, not gonna stop til I get my shot.”
