In that sense, it was really perfect that she got the spotlight at that part of the song. Same for Ryan, really. They're both shy/sweet but secretly amazing.

It was very telling, and I suspect that in the back story it helped that she was kind of revealed to him a little bit, enough for him to take action on his feelings.
