I think so, here they have a M15+ rating and you had to be 15 to rent - but I also remember they didn't always check

Same thing over here as far as I'm aware and they are really starting to ask for ID here, if you look under 25 you asked for it everywhere.

 There was a point when I was younger when things were more lax, but these days, they're quite vigilant with anything ID checking - buying smokes, getting into clubs etc |

I think that's good for smokes and drinking and clubs...but hopefully not for renting or buying R movies!

It possibly may depend on the store you buy it in, some are more lax than others when it comes to that kind of thing.
