I'm back.

Hey Quel

Kate, children don't cross the road here. Heck, nobody apart from my family appears to attempt such a thing.

but...but...how does one get from one side of the road to another?

Ever since being back in Britain, I've realised how many things I missed about our quirky little country!

Well, I'm not one to be stereotypical, but they drive.
I've seen people at strip malls move their car from one shop to the next.
Plus, the roads are so freaking big and the pelican crossings never give you long enough to cross. Unless you do a mad dash.

I miss England at times.

I was gone about 25mins Amber.
I had Salmon followed by strawberries.

I'm the only person at school, that I have noticed that is, that looks before walking out onto the zebra crossings. Everyone else just strolls on out.

In Germany, the zebra crossings never really had any significance...

There are so many things I missed about England -

double-decker buses...fish and chips...rose gardens...red brick houses...yorkshire puddings...people being able to "feel" the weather....overexaggerated politeness...

just lots of stupid stuff that is so quintessentially british.

Queues. I miss people knowing how to freaking queue properly.

I miss the history, moaning about the weather, yorkshire puddings (though my dad makes them for me when I am home), having 'fine rain that soaks you through' (just so I can complain about it and quote Peter Kay ), terminology, the letter u...

Yorkshire puddings (when my mother doesn't make them that is )
my grandad used to be able to 'smell' when snow was coming (he was never wrong either )

The letter 'u'?

Yes, queuing really is British!

It's really, really muggy here at the moment....the other morning my friend and I walked into town, the heat was really oppressive, and we said we just wanted it to rain. On the way home, it did rain...and we still complained. We are never ever satisfied!

I love the varied accents in Britain...and the fact that one object can have so many different names throughout the country
