Comedy Discussion #1: Cause life's a little better when you laugh along the way!

So let's about about comedy.

Who are your favorite comedians?
Do you SNL, Mad tv, or another sketch comedy show?
Do you think current skit shows need a revamping like Studio 60 did?
What do you think of the skits on Studio 60?

I have to out myself that I am not a comedy freak. I much prefer subtle comedy over SNL style skits and the likes. It can be fun here and there, but in general I prefer my humor to be smart and subtle.
Guess I am on the wrong board *kidding*

Does anyone think that they need to improve the skits on Studio 60? I think it's kind of off that Danny/Matt were supposed to come in and fix the show but some of the skits aren't that great

I'm a comedy fanatic, so this is an awesome thread for me. Yeah, I agree with you on the skits, some of them aren't all that and a bag of chips, but they're still pretty good.

I love Dennis Leary and Lewis Black. They do angry very well. Daniel Tosh is also unbelievably adorable.

Do you SNL, Mad tv, or another sketch comedy show?
I watch SNL. I like watching the older ones more.

Do you think current skit shows need a revamping like Studio 60 did?
Definatly. I have no idea how SNL would do it, but whatever it is, it needs to be done.

What do you think of the skits on Studio 60?
It's funny, they were talking about this on Best Week Ever. The skits are kind of lame.

Who are your favorite comedians? Rick Mercer
Do you SNL, Mad tv, or another sketch comedy show? I watch This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Royal Canadian Air Farce that's about it. I don't know if I'd clasisfy them in the same category as SNL and Mad TV though (I guess because they satirize politics more than anything)
Do you think current skit shows need a revamping like Studio 60 did? According to most people SNL Is down in the slumps, so I'd say yeah
What do you think of the skits on Studio 60? Not very funny. I like the Crazy Christians skit though. Personally I owuld ratehr see the show fully focus on the behind-the-scenes. Often in TWW, sorkin would build up to the major event throughout the entire show and then fade out s they're addressing the event. I want to see that happen on Studio 60 it would give them a way out of unfunny skits.

I watch the old SNL's, they kind of went downhill after Jimmy and Will Ferrell left.

Do you think current skit shows need a revamping like Studio 60 did?

What do you think of the skits on Studio 60?
They're not hilarious..but they are funny.

Who are your favorite comedians? David Cross, Kathy Griffin, Amy Sedaris, a few others..
Do you SNL, Mad tv, or another sketch comedy show? I usually don't watch SNL unless someone good is hosting/performing, but I usually watch Mad TV reruns.
Do you think current skit shows need a revamping like Studio 60 did? Yeah, I think the writing could be a little better.
What do you think of the skits on Studio 60? Neat ideas, but they need to be excuted and wrote a little better.

I'm not a huge huge comedy fanatic, but I do like to laugh. My friend played a routine that Bill Engvall did and I was literally crying on the floor laughing so hard! Oh, I *heart* Seinfeld and his comedy. And the "old school" SNL cast members--from the days of Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider, and also the days of Chevy Chase.

I really think SNL needs a revamp. The stuff just isn't as good as it used to be. My favorite years were when Adam Sandler was on. That cast was awesome. Never been a fan of MadTV, so I can't say much about that show except that it's never made me laugh. Oh! Anyone remember In Living Color--the show that Jim Carrey started on? That was some good times, some of the time! lol.

I don't think the skits on Studio 60 are all that incredibly funny, and some critics think that's the show's problem...however, it doesn't bother me. They don't seem to spend enough time on those anyways. --at least that's the way it's been the last two episodes.
