Going to watch it now will comment later!
ETA: Supercool episode.. Yvonne was so strong in this ep! Serena had to give up a lot though! And not always being appreciated. I wonder if she fully supports the life she lives in seeing how unhappy some women are now.. I'm not quite sure. What do you think? Quote:
the scene where Aunt Lydia seemed soft was very interesting yes i was surprised Yeah she knew how to play the crowd by sending in those children. I liked how she broke the rules a bit and that it worked well for her and made her husband acknowledge her more I have to say that so far Joseph Fiennes isn't a star of the show.. It's mostly about the women in this show __________________

Yvonne is doing incredible work opposite Moss. there scenes just crackle. i think that Bruce Miller must be very happy with his decision to cast Yvonne (forcing the ages younger). i love how they wouldnt have gone this young until she walked in and blew him away in the audition i think her character is really unhappy with how this has all played out (gilead i mean), she supports the original ideology, since she helped conceptualize that, but i would imagine she never foresaw monthly raping of women while she herself has no voice or say in anything, and if she still had a voice by the time it came to this... i think she would have fought against it. but she probably realized she no longer had any power far too late. what i hope for, is that as the series progresses we start to see more and more of the rage and the breaking of rules that the ambassador spoke about. i hope that she starts to take back her voice more and more... and eventually joins or leads the resistance. but, she also could go the other way entirely. yvonne was so good throughout.... her posture in that scene where the ambassador was questioning her spoke volumes. here's another great interview. and with The Advocate magazine. I am still happy she amazed him at her audition!!! I am sure hé has no regrets
I am curious to know how she envisioned this world with her own ideas I dont think she supports the monthly rape I am really hoping we see the rage develop I sometimes feel like she pities june Thank you!! __________________

i think a lot of it is the 'connection' that yvonne speaks about. serena joy is desperate to connect but no longer knows how... and she is so powerless that she abuses the little she has on the person she could/should connect with most. she has no actual friends. her husband think she's 'less than' when he used to seem to love her and listen to her. she is really just bored, angry and lonely. hell of a combo. bring on the rage. __________________

It's kind of odd though that she had these plans in her mind already before this all happened... Is she the creator of this whole masterplan? Though how it developed is not what she wanted?
Or is it how she wanted it but now she sees how brutal it is and doesn't support it? that is an interesting combination yes, boredom, anger and loneliness.... haha bring it on! __________________

I wasn't quite sure how it went exacty. Do you know? Is she the big master mind behind this all?
It did seem like her book was thrown away in the ep when the trash was being collected? __________________
