Michael Sheen Appreciation Thread #1: B/c you know you'd elect him into office
Michael Sheen Appreciation Thread #1 Michael Sheen was born on February 5, 1969 in Newport, Wales, the same small town that also produced Sir Anthony Hopkin. His parents, Meyrick and Irene, both work in personal management while his father works part-time as a Jack Nicholson impersonator; he also has a younger sister, Joanne. After moving to Liverpool when he was five, he took an instant interest in Liverpool F.C. and has been an avid supporter ever since. He was offered a trial at Arsenal F.C., but chose to persue acting instead, continuing to join the West Glamorgan Youth theater then attending the presitgous Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts where his first role was alongside Vanessa Redgrave in When She Danced. Sheen since has starred in multiple stage productions, including Henry V and Frost/Nixon, and has credited himself in a plethora of different roles. His accolade continues to grow for his portrayal of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, which he has played three times. 2007 arrived with the highly-honored invitation to join the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. In 2008 he portrayed another public figure in Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon as David Frost, and then another in 2009's the Damned United as Brian Clough. He proceeds to be a prominent figure in the Underworld franchise and Twilight saga, playing werewolf, Lucian, and vampire royal, Aro. He has a daughter with fellow actress Kate Beckinsale. I felt he needed one. He's very underappreciated.

Perhaps there is, but I went back fifteen pages and couldn't find anything and I did a Google search with no results.
I watched Unthinkable a couple nights ago and, geez, that was an intense little movie. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting Michael I'm asking where he derived the emotion to do that role from. |

I haven't seen Soccer Aid. I'm trying to go through his filmography and watch everything I can. What's Soccer Aid about?

Oh, it's not a movie. It's an event we have here, a bunch of celebrities and some pro soccer players get together (Robbie Williams started it) and play a soccer game to raise money for charity. England vs. "The Rest of The World" - Michael was Captain for ROTW, and was awesome. His team won, too, it was a great game and a lot of money was raised.

Oh, cool. We have a basketball event every year that's the same thing (mostly celebrities playing against each other).
Congrats to him. That would've been great to see. Was it broadcasted on television or were you there (if so, lucky)? |

Congrats indeed, they deserved it, well played.
No, I didn't go, but I watched it on TV live, it was a lot of fun. |

I love him. <3 I watched Unthinkable last week, what a great performance. He is perfect in every role and he is so down to earth and family oriented. And funny. __________________
