Steve Irwin Memorial Thread: Because he will truly be missed :( #1

What a sad day to wake up to find out that the world has lost Steve Irwin! There will never be anyone else like him.

Daredevil Irwin dies doing what he loved

=( I was truly sad when I found out. Honestly, I never watched his show or anything, but I almost cried when I read it online this morning. I mean, he just truly loved animals and everything he did, and he had to have his life taken away. He was still young, and he'll definitely be missed. <3

I found out last night on the news, and was just absolutely shocked. I'm 21, and have been watching his show since it started in '92, I was 7 at the time. I've been a fan of Steve's for most of my life, and I was just absolutely shocked to hear he had died.

Actually, to tell you the truth, Steve was one of the first people I ever had a crush on, when I was a young kid of 8

I just want to send out my best wishes to Terri and the kids at this difficult time.

I just heard today as well and checked the NEWS board to confirm it. This is horrible, such a one of kind type of guy....I think he would have rathered died doing something that he loved then anything else though.

RIP Steve

I'm still finding it hard to believe myself, despite having read so many articles about it. It's just completely unbelievable, because he was always so full of life.

I can't believe it either. He's wrestled with snakes and crocodiles, yet a stingray is what kills him. Very unfortunate.

When my friend told me he died, I was so stunned. I thought it was a hoax but after she showed me the news links, it was really hard to believe. He's still young and it is really unfortunate. I watched his shows occasionally and you can see that the love he has for animals is really geniune and true. He did great things throughout his career and I wish his family well.

RIP Steve.

So sad wakeing up today to hear the news first thing in the morning. I always thought he was crazy but he was so funny and loved what he was doing as well. I will always remember him saying Kroikie in his aussie accent while tackling some of natures most dangerious animals. But in the end I guess nature took it's course.

My prayers are with his family. Steve was really a one of a kind. He will be missed.

I was so sad to hear this~ I Loved watching his show! He did so much for animals and animal education! He was truly one of a kind.

It also makes me sick to see the media zoo that has sprung up because of this....the man died and some channels are so disrespectful, its disgusting, then again, its the media...

I totally agree. Instead of focusing on the amazing things he did for animals and for the environment and the education, they always have to bring up that one incident with his son and it makes me so mad. Steve Irwin made learning fun for kids and for adults alike and he has done so much and the media feels they have to bring that up. Let it go already.

In other news, his family declined the offer for a state funeral as his dad says Steve was just an ordinary bloke and he wouldnt want that. The funeral will be private, but they will hold a public memorial.

i've always watched his shows. I was stunned when i found out few days ago. He always seemed invincible and full of life. One of my dreams was to travel to his zoo and see him in person and it just seems weird that that chance is gone forever. I saw today on E! News, the last picture he took with his daughter and it just made me so sad. Espicially since if he was stung just a few inches on either side instead of his heart, he probably would've survived. Isn't he like only the 17th person ever to die from a stingray attack. And i agree that the media needs to cut back on bringing back the baby incident. Steve would not of done that if he wasn't in total control.

Is the show going to continue even without him on it? Like how the newer episodes focus more on the park itself so i guess they could manage without him..but it won't feel the same.

I hope the show will continue. And I hope they really keep going with Bindi's show as well, that they were working on. I think it will be one thing that can help her stay close with her dad. If you know what I mean.......

Animal Planet aired a nice commercial tribute today that basically said thanks for all his amazing and hard work and that they would take it from there.....
