Did you ever read the companion book "FOUR"? It was a good insight into his training before Divergent.

Four was great, really loved reading his perspective, especially how he views Tris, and liked reading his journey towards meeting her. apart from the horrible ending of Allegiant, i really got confused by the double pov of the book, some chapters Tris, some chapters Four, i found myself reading it in the wrong person sometimes, because Tris and Four think alike in a lot of ways. i wish there were more chapters to Four. geez i'm all over the place lol.

i wish VR would write another book called Ascendant, and the ending to Allegiant was really all a nightmare under the influence of the death serum...

I know what you mean with the POVs, but it made you pay more attention to figure out whose POV it was!

I wasn't super happy with Allegiant ending and I don't think a lot of fans were but Roth did explain that in a reality of really saving your city/world, there always has to be someone who makes that final sacrifice and she had planned since book one that Tris would be that sacrifice.

Have you read Roth's new books for her new trilogy? There are two out now but I've only read the first, "Carve The Mark", sequel is "The Fates Divide".

i respect her views as a writer, and your views as a fellow reader, but i can never reconcile that ending with how i view/admire/love Tris. it still pains and saddens me to no literary end, that Tris did not get her life with Tobias, did not see her city recover and flourish, and that both her parent's sacrifices still didn't save their child. i accept the premise of sacrifice and all that, but i just can't accept the writer's killing the primary protagonist/hero. not to mention, the agony Tobias must've gone through, losing his soulmate and reason to survive. the eternal hopeless romantic in me, is still grieving for Fourtris.

at least the final film Allegiant ends with them together. i shall just forget the book ending ever happened.....
