I tried to find one the other week but couldn't find one - great to see someone start one for her

I love that 2nd shot from LiT - she's absolutely stunning in that shot.

She attended the PGAs last weekend - on the same weekend she was nom'd for not one but two BAFTA awards in the Best Actress category.

One each for Girl with the Pearl Earring and Lost in Translation (GwtPE went v. well with nominations for the BAFTAs too).

I can only hope the Oscar voters go the same way as the BAFTA ones and not the way of the SAG nominees and Scarlett gets a deserved nomination.

I'm looking forward to seeing her in Lost In Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring. Girl with a Pearl Earring hasn't come out here in Australia yet, and LiT only has limited releases So I gotta find a time to get to one of the cinemas that actually show it

She definitely deserves an Oscar for Lost In Translation. I haven't seen Girl With The Pearl Earring so I dont know what she was like in it, but from what I've heard, she's awesome. Hopefully the Golden Globes will go well too and she'll win for at least one!

Trying to hunt down a copy of Girl... since it doesn't come out in Australia till March

I totally agree about your Lost in Translation comments.

I just love that she's escaped the radar till now - even though back in the Horse Whisperer Days and even before that you could see she had the potential to break through the big time..

Mind you the thing that a lot of teen actors suffer from is the transition from child to adult roles - but I think if anyone had any doubt about Scarlett there Lost in Translation buried them all.

I just love her comments about LiT on NBC Today last month when she met Bill for the first time:

"It looks like Bill Murray, it sounds like Bill Murray, it is Bill Murray!

I liked her in 8 Legged Freaks. It might be the only thing i've seen with her in it.

Biznitch 01-21-2004 08:09 PM

You should rent some other movies with her in it

I also like Scarlett. I`ve been a fan of her`s since i saw her in The Horse Whisper. I was really struck by how great she was in that movie. I haven`t seen Lost in Translition and Girl with a Pearl Earring yet, but i`m sure she`s great in them as everyone says she is. I`m very happy that Scarlett is finally getting the recognition that she deserves. She`s definitely one of the most talented actresses around. Plus i can`t forget to mention that she`s quite a hottie.

She's definitely one of the few teen actresses that actually had talent. She's been able to get roles even after growing up and becoming a young woman.

i'm always in two minds about whether i like scarlett or not. i've only seen her in two things ghost world and the horse whisperer, so that obviously limits what i can say. there's something about her, a quality that tells me she has the talent to stick around... but there's that something, that just doesn't appeal to me just yet. i think i'll grow to appreciate her, as opposed to loving her off the bat. if that makes sense.

also, there's a scarlett vs. keira knightley article in one of my newspapers this month, so i'll be typing that up later. i'll post it here and you can decide if you agree with what was said or not.

i shall however be going to see lost in translation and girl with a pearl earring, although i have to admit i'm only seeing the latter for colin firth.

I wasnt sure if I liked her or not either at first. There was something really "different" about her but it turned out to be a good "different" I think. I dont know if that made sense, hope so. That would be great if you could type up that article. I like both Scarlet and Keira.

Yeah, I heard Lost in Translation is a really good movie. I also wanna see Girl With a Pearl Earring since I read the book and no one can resist a Colin Firth movie

Phébé la Frenchie 01-25-2004 04:57 AM

Whoo I love Scarlett! Saw LiT twice and she's just amazing. And am I the only one who adores her voice?

CarolineOrphee 01-25-2004 02:47 PM

Yep she has this really uncommon deep voice.

She is a very good actress who manages to make clever choices about her career. I cannot believe she is only 19! Plus: she loves Coldplay! yeah! (I do too )

I loved "Lost in Translation"! One of my fav movies now!
