My role model. Sandy is awesome and I love her to death! She inspired me to act. When I seen Miss Congeniality, I saw it in theaters 12 times to show support and that's what I'm going to do when the second one comes out. Everything on that list is true. I want to be added.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Sandra Bullock, a Virginia native, will be honored Oct. 30 at the Virginia Film Festival, which will also pay homage to the late "King of Leer" Russ Meyer.

Bullock, who was born in Arlington, will receive the Virginia Film Award at the 17th edition of the festival and show a preview clip from "Miss Congeniality 2." Bullock will also participate in an acting workshop with drama students at the University of Virginia.

The festival will screen "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" in memory of Meyer, who died last month in Los Angeles.

The festival opens Oct. 28 and runs through Oct. 31.

It took a jury almost four days, but there's a verdict in the trial involving Sandra Bullock.

Jurors awared the actress approximately $7 million.

Bullock and builder Benny Daneshjou sued each other over the construction of her Lake Austin home.

The jury's verdict was read just before 10 a.m. Thursday.

There were 48 questions to consider in order to get a verdict and all were read.

The jury ruled in favor of Bullock, saying Daneshjou built a defective house, overcharged her and committed fraud.

Bullock is in Los Angeles, but her father was at the Travis County Courthouse for the verdict.

"The big thing to come out of this is to realize that this complex system works. It's a judicial system that I think everybody ought to know more about and participate in. Although it's an expensive proposition and tedious, but from our point of view, been work it," said John Bullock.

"I'm very disappointed, absolutely. There was a lot of evidence that wasn't allowed to be introduced into the court, and it would have, in our opinion, changed the verdict," said Daneshjou, who says he will appeal.
