It is definitely something to think about, but how should it be archived though? The index itself is an archive of all the threads.

Plus it's a hard job to keep checking up on threads to see which ones have passed a certain time frame.
Plus sometimes old threads get revived because an actor makes a comeback or because their boards don't get enough traffic and they restart that thread here.

I would love to hear some more specific thoughts really and if more people feel about it in that way.
Plus I'd have to check with my comod when she gets back from her holidays.

I have considered it though I don't think locking them is the solution, especially if people want to revisit that thread, doesn't feel like they can discuss them because a thread has become older and they have to ask us for opening it (or decide to stay away from putting up a discussion.)
Plus we have an organized OP, I don't think it's that difficult to find something.
Other boards like TV, Books & Writing aren't locking old threads either, they have in the past and that made posters go post elsewhere or not post at all anymore.
I don't want this forum to feel like that for members here.

I don't think closing/locking threads helps anyone, if anything it causes people to leave and find a new way to post or duplicate threads start showing up and then we see a closed thread and don't notice the post count, when the old 'closed' thread could have just been reopened.

Some like to complain about how a certain celebrity or TV show has a board and that's where you should post, but for general discussion/appreciation, I like having one thread on the Celebrities board or Television board.

Has anyone gone elsewhere when they see a thread is closed and are not allowed to open a new one for that reason? Some mods can be sticklers for that rule of thought.

I'm happy to re-open if necessary if there's a closed thread hidden somewhere in this forum

oh really Rita?

Hey Guys!

Happy Weekend!

Yeah I like to ask for permission to open threads on a board, just out of a courtesy but sometimes mods can be too strict about that. And closing a thread because of lack of traffic doesn't help, and duplicate threads will appear because no one can post in the not full to post count thread.

Have had internet issues all week, so bloody annoying. Was told my my service provider it was due to maintenance work, but it was out more then it was in so I couldn't get online to post much.

Hope everyone is well!

I can't believe my first week off from work is already over, just 1,5 week to go!

Nothing super fun, did some laundry and watched some recorded TV shows. Read a book.

Wow, time flies when you have vacation time!

Anything planned for your last week and a half?

That sounds lovely! Have a good time away.

I'm reading, "Murder At Mansfield Park" by Lynn Shepherd.

I love murder mystery style, like London based turn of the century or 1800s style.
