November 16,2003 Coroner's Inquest into death of Aaliyah, entourage to start
On Monday, at the Magistrate's Court in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Coroner William Campbell and his seven-member jury begin inquiries into a plane crash that claimed the lives of R and B singer Aaliyah Haughton and all others on board.
The famous singer, six members of her entourage, and the pilot, all succumbed to fatal injuries after being involved in the crash of a Cessna 402 shortly after takeoff, just over two years ago.
The inquest will inquire into how Ms. Haughton, Michelle Gina Smith, Eric Foreman, Scott Allan Gallin, Keith Wallace, Anthony Dodd, Douglas Kratz, Maldanado Christopher and pilot Antonio Luis Morales came to their demise between Aug. 25 and Aug. 26, 2001.
Aaliyah and her crew had just wrapped up a music video shoot for "Rock da Boat" before they boarded the plane.
Claude Sawyer, Cherokee Air reported to police that a plane had crashed at the Marsh Harbour International Airport on Aug. 25, 2001. As a result of the information Assistant Superintendent Russell, Sergeant 193 Cooper and Sergeant 342 Rolle were dispatched to the scene, where Fire Chief Gordon Clay Wilhoyte and a crew were standing by.
Located in a swampy area engulfed in fire, the aircraft, a nine seater, 'B' model, twin engine Cessna 402, registered to Black Hawk International, owned by Gilbert Chacon, and linked to Sky Stream Incorporated, of North Perry, Florida, was ripped in half, with both engines, and the wings torn off.
The wreckage was about 250 feet from the end of the runway. There was also a three-foot crater, about 150 feet from where the aircraft came to rest.
Among the passengers, six were deceased and three displayed vital signs.
The three survivors, who later succumbed to their injuries around 3 a.m. on Aug. 26, 2001, were identified as Dodd, Gallin and Maldanado.
Following the crash, 12 assorted pieces of luggage were collected, weighing a total of 524 pounds. Officials from Continental Motors, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board arrived on the island the following day and conducted investigations.
An autopsy performed on the deceased listed the cause of death as being the result of an air crash. Aviation officials said overweight possibly contributed to the crash.
Inspector Bradley Neely is expected to act as Court Marshall for the case.

Sept 04,2003- Psychic Edward:I 'talked' to Aaliyah
The mother of the late R&B star Aaliyah has reached out to celebrity psychic John Edward in an effort to contact her daughter. Diane Haughton had a private session with the host of TV's syndicated spookfest, "Crossing Over," in February in a New York hotel. Aaliyah, 22, died in a plane crash on Aug. 25, 2001. Recalling the emotional reading in his new book, "After Life," Edward wrote that he didn't know Haughton was the mother of the "Queen of the Damned" actress when they met. He claimed to have made contact with "a presence" during the session. Edward told Diane, "I need to make sure that you know that she's okay ... and she's making me feel like it's really important that you know she appreciates everything you tried to do and that you continue to do." According to Edward, Haughton also hinted that she had some unreleased material recorded by the popular singer. "I have a CD that only I have," she said during the reading.

Sept 10,2003- Aaliyah Tragedy Reaches Settlement
The parents of the R&B star Aaliyah, who was tragically killed after negligence caused her plane crash in 2001, have reached a settlement with the flight operators. Diane and Michael Haughton sued Blackhawk International Airways Corp in 2001 after examiners discovered that one of their planes in which Aaliyah was travelling in was hugely overloaded. Upon inspection of the case it seems that lawyers for the Haughton's have filed a notice in US federal court late last week stating the matter has now been settled. Details of the settlement amount are to forever remain confidential.

October 06,2003- 'Movie vampire told me to kill'
Allan Menzies, 22, claimed that he was ordered to kill Thomas McKendrick by a character in the movie Queen Of The Damned. He said at the High Court in Edinburgh that he was told he would be rewarded with immortality and become a vampire "in the next life". Mr Menzies said he was visited in his West Lothian home by the female vampire Akasha, who was played in the film by the late US singer Aaliyah.

Anyway I have loved Aaliyah since I was about 12 [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
And just recently I have got a BIG scratch on my Aaliyah Best Of CD right on my favourite song [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]
How do you get scratches off? Don't tell me I will have to buy it a third time! (It got stolen the first time when my car got broken into!)

Scrathes are pretty hard to get rid of on CDs, have you tried putting the CD in the freezer for a while. My friend did that and it worked, but otherwise it might not be good.
