On her first trip to Los Angeles from her native Toronto, she landed a major starring role in a studio comedy, "The Hot Chick", in which she plays a popular and self-absorbed cheerleader who wakes up one day to find she has switched bodies with a man in his thirties (Rob Schneider). Prior to her arrival in Los Angeles, the talented young actress starred in "Perfect Pie", for which she was nominated for a Genie Award (Canada's equivalent of an Academy Award). It is a feature film based on the play by acclaimed Canadian playwright Judith Thompson and directed by Barbara Willis Sweete and is the story of two friends pulled apart by tragedy as teens who, years later, must come to terms with the past. McAdams' other credits include the acclaimed coming-of-age drama "My Name Is Tanino", directed by Cecchi Gore Groupe Internationale. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival of 2002. McAdams was raised in a small town near London, Ontario. At the age of four, she took up figure skating and skated competitively through high school. She always knew she wanted to be an actress, and when a summer theater camp finally opened nearby, she was performing in productions of Shakespeare at the age of 13. McAdams went on to York University, appearing in numerous student films and stage productions, where she graduated with honors with a B.F.A. degree in theater, which remains her first love. She landed her first professional on-screen role as a girl with bulimia in the Disney series "The Famous Jett Jackson", and followed with a pilot for MTV. She recently completed New Line's "The Notebook" (scheduled for release this summer), starring opposite Ryan Gosling, Gena Rowlands, Sam Shepard, Joan Allen, James Garner and James Marsden. Based on the best-selling Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, "The Notebook" follows a young couple who are reunited after World War II. | does rachel have blue or hazel eyes? i could see she has both from the pics...but on the last pic...gosh...she has beautiful hazel eyes.  | |||

| Everytime I look at pictures of her, her eyes seem to change from gray...green..blue-ish depending on what she's wearing or the backdrop is. __________________ she crashed into the easter mass with her hair done up in broken glass. she was limping left on broken heels when she said father can i tell your congregation how a resurrection really feels? | |||

| I'm not totally sure what her exact eye color is. But, I do think she has blue eyes, possibly with some green in them? I remember an interviewer was talking about how blue her eyes were.... kind of like Elizabeth Taylor (even tho she had purple). __________________ ... and when you find that love, wherever you find it, whoever you choose, don't run away from it. | Thats the same thing with my eyes. It says on my brith certificate I have blue eyes but when I wear different shades of clothes it changes. Blue clothes lets the blue come out the best. | |||

| Yay, new thread!  I agree, her eyes always seem a different shade. They seem to go from hazel to green to gray to blue...  "The Notebook" held steady at #5 this weekend at the box office, so it's great to know it's still going strong... | |||
