Penelope Cruz Sanchez was born April 28, 1974, in Madrid, Spain. Her friends call her simply Pe.
Her revelation in Cinema took place in 1992 with her third film, the Oscar-winning Belle époque, in which she played one of four sisters vying for the love of a handsome army deserter. The film also garnered several Goyas, the Spanish equivalent of the Academy Awards. " Ham Ham " of Bigas Luna -a hypersexual hit in her native Spain- transformed her into a national fantasy. She was 17. She was suddenly a star, and she was scared. “I had a strong rejection of anything sexual or sensual for a while. I cut my hair very, very short. I didn’t do any love scenes, not even kisses, for many years."
For her performance in " The girl of your eyes " she receive the Goya for the best actress ( the Spanish equivalent of the Academy Awards). Previously she had been nominated by her role in " Jamon, jamon"

WOW, it's been a while since nobody post here, uh?
She's no longer with Matt, was nominated for an Oscar, won a Goya, among other prizes, was honored in Italy, her sister is becoming a movie star as well, her BFF Goya Toledo stole Kylie Minogue boyfriend (Olivier Martinez), has been related to Orlando Bloom, Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Josh Hartnett in just one year, she's on L'Oreal campaing, and she's filming with Scarlett and Javier Bardem in the new Woody Allen's film.
I think she deserves a little mention here...
Oh, and, after many, many efforts from also spanish, but not friend, Elsa Pataky to take her role, and be the most popular spanish actress in Hollywood by messing around with Adrien Brody (What a big step, ;), uh?), she keeps being the spanish queen, who moved to NY so many years ago to study drama and move to LA, alone, with no return ticket, and got for herself all she wanted.
Smart girl!! Smarter when she dumped Tom for Matt, smarter when she dumped him for Orly (though I wanted him with Kate), and we'll see who's next!

That's great for her, although I didn't like the movie or the characters. She did well, but nothing great IMO, not to deserve a nomination. But I'm glad for her.

Yeah, me too. Dress is awsome and it's really her style, more than many of the outfits she usually wears to parties or premieres.

I usually like all her outfits, but this one I think it's one of the best on her. Maybe is the color.
