Nicole Margaret Blonsky (born November 9, 1988) is an American actress and singer. She will portray Tracy Turnblad, the lead character, in the big-screen remake and adaptation of the musical Hairspray, currently scheduled for a 2007 release date. She is known professionally as Nikki Blonsky.

Nikki may be the one actress I really enjoy, the first I am sure that I look at and am inspired by.

I know that some of you have heard me say before, but I feel in Nikki a rediscovery of what Hollywood use to be. The poise and the charm and the glamor. She is what she is and at the same time she is what Hollywood should be. With her talent, both acting and singing and she showed real potential for dancing. I think of Kathrine Hepburn when I see her. A woman who chose this life and this career and at the same time chose to be herself and change for no one, no matter what the 'norm' was. So needless to say, she has my vote. And not just because I see the potential for a lot of threads and fun but so that if someone doesn't know her they can wander upon her board and discover her, see what truth in Hollywood looks like. What talent is and mostly they can see how being yourself can not damper your dreams but brighten them.
