| film version of Chess? I have found a article about this..... from DECEMBER 25, 2003 Kylie, Nicole to play Chess? SYDNEY: Aussie pop singer Kylie Minogue and Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman are possible leads for a film version of the musical Chess. Chess was written by 60's band Abba's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus with Tim Rice and an internet rumour has it that Kylie and Nicole are possible candidates, reports the Herald Sun . | not heard of chess, then I will give you some facts. chess Chess originated as a concept album released in 1984. The music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, and lyrics by Tim Rice two singles reaching the top of the charts in England and America: “One Night in Bangkok” and “I Know Him So Well.” the story The story of Chess revolves around a World Chess Championship being played between a Russian Grandmaster, Anatoly Sergievsky, and his American rival, Frederick Trumper (a character inspired by Bobby Fischer and John McEnroe.) In the middle of this heated battle is Florence Vassy, Freddie’s second (a kind of personal chess trainer) and lover. She is a refugee of the 1956 Hungarian uprising, and has learned to trust no one. Remarkably, however, she finds herself falling in love with the Russian, who in turn, defects from Russia to be with her. All of these moves affect the people surrounding Florence and Anatoly, including Anatoly’s KGB hired second named Molokov, Freddie’s brash agent Walter, and Anatoly’s wife, Svetlana. several versions of the musical

The memory of him haunts her. Also, her lover Freddie is a villain, and not easy to deal with. You can say she has a hang up for difficult men. Svetlana is the wife of the Russian champion Anatoly. She is more or less kept as a hostage so that Anatoly won't loose any games or leave Russia. Those communists... What doesn't quite make sense, though, is that Svetlana and Anatoly aren't too fond of eachother. Actually, they despise eachother story Now... Florence meets Anatoly, and they fall in love. Big problems. Will it last? Will Anatoly leave Russia and his wife? There are various endings of this problem, but mostly, Anatoly is in a loose/loose situation.
