Niall Matter, Bad Boy of Science
I just watched the Primeval: New World marathon on Sy Fy yesterday. Almost as much fun as watching the dinosaurs chase people around Vancouver was seeing Canadian actor Niall Matter, who last graced my screen as Zane Donovan on Eureka. P:NW had already been cancelled, before I ever heard of it. I hope I won't have to wait too long to see Matter swagger and smirk through yet another laboratory set as an iconoclastic genius in denim and leather.
Studly yet sensitive, or sensitive yet studly?  With the P:NW cast. A different look for Niall. Here he's a recently-turned zombie in the sixth episode of Fear Itself, a Canadian-made horror anthology that had a brief run on NBC in 2008.

Niall won a Constellation Award ("Canada's Awards for Excellence in Science Fiction Film and Television") for best male performance in a 2012 science fiction television episode for his work in "Truth", the eighth episode of "Primeval: New World". Apparently, he won it in June, but I just saw a blurb on twitter today.
