Biography

Margot Robbie is an Australian actress born in Dalby, Queensland, and raised on the Gold Coast, spending much of her time at the farm belonging to her grandparents. Her mother, Sarie Kessler, is a physiotherapist. Robbie attended and graduated from Somerset College. In her late teens, she moved to Melbourne to pursue an acting career. Her first break came when she appeared in two films directed by Aash Aaron - Vigilante (2008) and I.C.U. (2009). In 2008, she began appearing as "Donna Freedman" in the soap opera, Neighbours (1985). The role and performance was popular and Robbie was nominated for several Logie Awards. She left the show in 2010 and set off to pursue Hollywood opportunities, quickly landing the role of "Laura Cameron" in the ABC drama, Pan Am (2011).

In 2013, Margot made her big screen debut in Richard Curtis' romantic comedy-drama film, About Time (2013), and co-starred in Martin Scorsese's biopic, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). In 2015, Robbie co-starred in the romantic comedy-drama film, Focus (2015); appeared in the romantic World War II drama film, Suite Française (2014), and starred in the film, Z for Zachariah (2015). In May 2012, Robbie joined the cast of Richard Curtis romantic comedy, About Time (2013), alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy. "About Time" was released in the United Kingdom on 4 September 2013 and in the United States on 1 November 2013. The film received positive reviews and grossed $87 million on its $12 million budget. In June 2012, it was announced that Robbie was in talks to appear in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey. In 2015, Robbie starred opposite Will Smith in the romantic comedy-drama film, Focus (2015). In the film, she plays an inexperienced grifter learning the craft from Smith's character. The film was released on February 27, 2015 to generally mixed reviews, however Robbie's performance was praised.

In 2016, she headlined two summer blockbusters, first as Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and then as the maniacal Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad (2016).

I only remember her from Legens with Tarzan but I loved her role in that one!

No problem

She is wonderful as Jane and I have seen her as Donna on Neighbours and more recently as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad

I still want to see Pan AM, Focus, The Wolf of Wall Street and a few others

haha... starts to make more sense now

I haven't seen this film yet but she's listed as #44 on the 50 best superheroes list (from thr.com)

Quote:
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie)

Warner Bros.
"I'm known to be quite vexing," Robbie's Harley Quinn memorably threatened in trailers for Suicide Squad, but that proved to be an empty threat. Instead, she proved to be everything that a flesh-and-blood Harley should be: complex, funny, a little tragic and all kinds of trouble. Appropriately stealing every scene she was in, Robbie had a manic energy that felt just the right kinds of brittle, as if one wrong move — or cruel decision on behalf of Jared Leto's Joker — could unleash all kinds of hell (or just snap her in two). It's no surprise that she's going to get a spin-off movie all her own: no-one else in DC's cinematic universe feels quite as full of life.

She looks so different then Jane in the above pic

I did love her in the Tarzan film too! She played it well and really likeable too! She had good chemistry with Alexander Skarsgard!

Focus was the movie with Will Smith???

Margot Robbie to Star in Sony's Robin Hood Stand-Alone Drama 'Marian'

Quote:
She will play the titular maiden who leads her people after the death of Robin Hood and becomes a legend herself.
This sounds really good! Happy for her!
