He also struggled with being famous. GOT has a huge following and everywhere he goes, he's hounded by the paps and fans. And to think he started out on the show as this unheard of young actor just making it through in the UK.

Exactly. He has said in a number of interviews that Thrones really cemented his acting career and that he'll forever be grateful for it. What he said in that interview about the last time he wore the Jon Snow costume was really touching because it's like he's peeling away a huge part of his life forever.
