It's EXCELLENT!! Especially if you're a music lover, but you don't necessarily have to be music major or anything like that to appreciate this. If you like heartfelt movies about families whilst being moved by amazing music, then this is the movie for you to see! I just saw it yesterday and it's the best movie I've seen in a LONG time!

Keri Russell is simply amazing. I also loved her in Waitress and I think that DVD comes out on Tuesday in the U.S. And River is pretty cute, too. I'm glad I found this thread for her.

Welcome here!! I'm glad you found us, it's so great to meet new Keri fans!!
I'm happy you liked the movie so much, I'll have to wait for 5th December to premier in Spain... I did love 'Waitress' so much, I saw it during my honeymoon in NY and I enjoyed it so much! It was a very special time for me.

Aroa, you've already been added

I agree, trucherrygirl. I saw the movie this morning with my mom and we both adored it. It's just really, really... poignant. It really does feel like a kind of fairy tale, as Keri has said in several interviews. It's uplifting and moving, and the acting and direction is amazing. Gah, love.

Hey!

Thanks for the new thread.

MY NEW YORK
KERI RUSSELL
By REED TUCKER

KERI RUSSELL

November 25, 2007 -- When "Felicity" ended in 2002, Keri Russell (and her frizzy hair) were out of work and ready for a change. At a friend's urging, she left LA for NYC and has been here ever since. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, a contractor, and their new baby, River. Her latest film is "August Rush" about a cellist trying to find the son she gave up for adoption. Russell has boundless enthusiasm for the city and has a long list of favorite places. This is her New York.

1. Yoya, 636 Hudson Ave., at Horatio Street
That's where I bought every baby thing for River. Baby stuff is so cutesy, but that stuff is actually cool and functional. You don't feel like such a nerdy mom.

2. Doma, 17 Perry St., at Seventh Avenue
I spent so many hours there. They have a big communal table in the center. I think on my first year in New York, I'd wake up early and go there and always sit with the same people at the communal table. After months of this, we all became friends - we called it the "coffee group" - and we ended up doing things together. That speaks so much to New York. We were all talking one time, and we decided we'd take salsa dance classes together. It was hilarious.

3. Po, 31 Cornelia St., between Bleecker Street and Sixth Avenue
It's one of my favorite restaurants, and the panna cotta to this day is my favorite dessert. I've spent many a night there at the bar reading a book by myself. In my first few years in New York, I spent a lot of time wandering alone. I'd go, have a couple glasses of wine, find my book fascinating, then wander home.

4. Rescue Beauty Lounge, 34 Gansevoort St., near Hudson Street
It's a little fancy, but my girlfriends and I go there for a special occasion. It's the epitome of a nail salon. By the way, I'd never had my nails done before I moved to New York City. Everyone does that in New York. You walk up this secret staircase, and it's really neat. You have your own private cubicle, and you can bring wine and just sit there with your friends and have your own conversation.

5. Don Hill's, 511 Greenwich St., at Spring Street
I did everything I wanted to do those first couple of years I lived here. We went dancing on '80s night every Thursday at Don Hill's and would walk home drunk in the snow. It was all those things I didn't get to do working on "Felicity," because we worked such late hours.

6. Three Lives & Company, 154 W. 10th St., at Waverly Place
Everything aesthetically about it is nice. Look, I love Barnes & Noble, too, but there's something to be said about tiny little bookstores. They select books and everyone there really has read things. It's just a quaint little shop.

7. The Harrison, 355 Greenwich St., at Harrison Street
[Russell got married there last February.] We did not mean to pick Valentine's Day. That was the only day we could get the private room. I called literally the day before and asked what they had available, and they said Valentine's Day. I said, "We'll take it." It was a blizzard that day, the kind you have to walk backwards and the snow is stinging. And P.S., when you have curly hair and like it straight, you do not like getting it wet. It was so great, though, seeing all my girlfriends show up in their nice dresses and snow boots.

8. The Roxy, formerly at 515 W. 18th St., between 10th and 11th avenues
I went roller skating here on one of my first dates with my husband. It was his idea, and it was so fun. It made me like him so much because he was the type of guy who just went out there and skated. At one point, he let someone show him how to skate backwards. He wasn't too cool for school. It was a fun creative date.

9. Beacon Theatre, Broadway at 74th Street
I saw one of my favorite concerts there. My girlfriend and I went to Beck on the "Sea Change" tour. We scalped tickets outside and smoked a "funny smelling cigarette." It was the best concert.

Those icons are beautiful!!

Sonia, you've been added to the list!

dune, thanks for the article, I love she speaks about all the pretty things she used to do and places to go in NY... Next time I go there I'll visit each of them.
I would love to see a Keri's pic with her wedding dress, and her "not wanted" curly hair.

Cool icons. Love all of those awesome color blends. OMG, I was just in NYC, but I was only there for a day. I saw a lot considering, but I'll have to keep some of those places in mind next time I go. I'd like to be added to the list as well, please!
