This is a thread for the talented and handsome Jack Davenport, best known for his role as Steve Taylor in the BBC show "Coupling", and as Admiral James Norrington in "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie trilogy. He has also had parts in "The Talented Mr. Ripley", "The Wedding Date", and has been rumoured to be in the next Harry Potter movie, so far no one has confirmed or denied this.

He can currently be seen as Bruce Miller, Sr. in the new CBS "Swingtown".

Thanks for the thread. I'm not too familar with him, but based on the things he has been in, I've seen him around in a few of them.

I haven't seen tonight's episode but he was good in the Pilot! I terribly miss his accent but the sexy voice is still there.

I miss his accent to He does a good American one, though once or twice I thought I heard his English one trying to come out in the Pilot episode.

I'm a fan of Jack Davenport's. He was so great as James Norrington what a great character of POTC. I've started watching Swingtown, I missed the first episode. I really like the show.

I hate what they did to Norrington. I love that he had such a great part in movie two, but to do that to his character - I cried! It was such an awful ending. I did like James. In the end he was a good guy.

Enigma - I've seen PotC, Ripley, a lot of Coupling, Wedding Date, The Moth, The Tale of the Mummy (this was BAD), The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant, and The Libertine.

I've seen him in The Libertine too, the Moth, and the Mummy. I've seen him around more than I thought.

I watched the first two episodes of Swingtown on cbs.com today. I really like the show!

I loved him in "The Moth", his character was so sweet! He's been in a lot of films with Johnny Depp, though he didn't have any scenes with him in the third PotC.

He wasn't in the Brendan Fraser Mummy movie, but another film. It was bad, the least favourite thing I have seen him in.

I haven't seen it yet, but I plan to watch the second episode soon! I hope the show makes it!

I also hated what happened to Norrington in POTC, that just upset me. You would have also thought Norrington and Jack Sparrow would have scenes in the 3rd one cause of the 1st movie, Norrington was after him he wanted to stop pirates. The 3rd movie didn't quite go as good as I had hoped.

I am behind on "Swingtown" but I hope to get caught up soon! What did you think of last night's episode?

I like the third film on some level, but part of the story disappointed me, especially involving Will/Elizabeth, but that was gutsy move on their part to not make it completely happy ever after. I would have loved to see a Sparrow/Norrington showdown in POTC 3, or see Norrington apologize to Sparrow about taking the heart, and then fighting with Jack against the East India Trading Company. That would have been sooo awesome! I was really disappointed that they killed him off, especially so soon into the film. His part was so small in the third film! He went from being a major character whose actions set off a huge series of events, to a minor role who gets murdered. It totally sucks.

No I didn't like the film

Last week's episode of "Swingtown" was interesting! I do enjoy the show, and Jack's accent is really good! I haven't heard a trace of his British one trying to come out.
