It's always a surprise to what his next outfit will be I'd love to dress him for a photo shoot just to see what he wouldn't wear

Things had a rough start but everything worked out, I got to go home yesterday and get to be home for Christmas. I'm exhausted but excited. I have a good feeling this time.

I wonder if Hugh is celebrating in the US or in London, but I guess London, right?

I had about three days there where I wasn't sure if I'd be home or not. For some reason I like to develop fevers during treatment go figure. Things are looking good though. I guess when you get the right meds you see improvemnt I go back in January 3rd for more. I was put back on Ativan so that helps. if things keep up the way there are I could be finished with everyting by March/April.

I hope where ever he ends up that its where he wants to be and that Stephen can join them.

Hugh lip prints!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and got a little something Hugh related in ther stocking from Santa

You think we have a chance of him showing up at any of the upcoming award shows? We need some new tux!porn!

ETA - I'm sunggled up in bed trying to find something to watch and I stumbled on Last Chance to See and there is Stephen in a tent saying "I miss my wife." he stops and gives the camera a look and then says "yeah my wife, er, no wifi, my wifi!" So much love for that man!

That was a much needed laugh. That man is brilliant! I love his take on things. I wish for one of their future projects Hugh and Stephen would do a camping trip or some adventure outing for us to watch. It'd be epic!

Hey Kali I'm so glad you were home for Christmas! I hope everyone had a good one!

So, do we know if Hugh spent Christmas at home or in NY or LA?

Those who only know of Hugh Laurie from his hot Fox drama, "House M.D.," which ended an eight-season run earlier this year, have seen only one aspect of the British actor's enormous talent. Laurie was a member of Footlights, the comedy troupe at the University of Cambridge that has also produced members of Monty Python. He is an accomplished musician who fell in love with the blues around age 10 and notes that the music "makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up." Laurie fulfilled a lifelong dream earlier this year when he released his first-ever blues album, "Let Them Talk," which finds him singing and playing piano on a string of blues classics.

When you were a struggling actor, what did you do to make a living?

I worked behind a bar for a bit, but I was incredibly lucky. I was given an opportunity to work on a television show for Granada Television, which was based in Manchester, England. We did a sketch show there -- me, Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Ben Elton and Robbie Coltrane -- so I was incredibly lucky to have that break so early. To be honest, if my will had been tested and somebody said, "You're gonna have to wait five or 10 years before you can break into this," I don't know that I would have stuck it out. I was very, very lucky. My number came up very quick.

So tending bar was the only nonshow-business job you had?

When you say it like that, you make it sound like I'm only half a person -- and it's true. I am. I fess up to it. I was incredibly lucky.

You became one of the highest-paid actors on television. When you got really rich, did you spurge on anything massive?

I don't have a boat, although I occasionally look at boats. I look at pictures of boats. I find boats very soothing to look at. But I did buy this beautiful car that I'd coveted since I was a teenager -- a Ford Galaxie. I saw one of these when I was probably about 17 or 18 at a dealership in London, of all places. I don't even know how the car got to London. But some 30 years later, I wound up owning a Ford Galaxie, which is my pride and joy. It's absolutely shocking the amount of gas it burns. I should really just leave it where it is and stare at it. I'd be happy to do that. But it is my pride and joy.

Do you splurge in general now, or are you more frugal?

I'm pretty frugal. I come from cautious Presbyterian stock -- generally very suspicious of toys and pleasure. It's true. It's weird. I love what I do. I love working at what I do. The fruits of what I do, I find much harder to deal with. But I love working and doing what I do.
I was sick for 3 days, had a fever and flu like symptoms, not fun, I'm better today, I'm glad because I have to start studying for my exam in January!

Aww, I bet in about a year or so he buys his boat!! I mean he actually bought the car that shows its getting abit easier for him

Kate - hope you all had a great Holiday!

Andi- hope you are feeling better.

I've been pretty much left on my own since Wednesday because everyone has come down with the flu..even though they all had flu shots. That was the main reason I wasn't allowd to go see The Oranges.. but they all exposed me to it at home anyway so I could have gone

Sorry to hear your family have been hit by the flu bug, Kali.

I hope everyone is looking forward to the new year. We're going to a family party at my parents' house tomorrow evening. Nothing too crazy

Seems to be pretty quiet on the Hugh news front...

Yeah but on the bright side I hope it means he is resting up. I mean he's got a book to write, an album to write,... Did Stephen ever drop a hint where he spent Christmas?

my appt this morning went well, I go back in Wed, and will hopefull be home Friday afternoon. Then in two weeks I'll go back on chemo. My counts are steady so I'm feeling really positive about everything, well except I still feel like crap but I shouldn't complain
