Nolan praises "extraordinary" Henry Cavill Superman producer Christopher Nolan has said that Henry Cavill will make an "extraordinary" Man of Steel. "Henry's a terrific choice as Superman," Nolan said. "Other than having the look, he gave an incredible performance in the test we did and I think he's going to be something really extraordinary in the role." Cavill revealed that he almost gave up acting, only to change his mind when he came close to landing the role of James Bond in Casino Royale. "I was actually very close to throwing in the towel before the Bond screentest happened," he explained. "The test kept me in the industry. As soon as I got it, I thought, 'There's a reason to stick around. I'm not just wasting my time here.'" Diane Lane was recently added to the Superman cast as Clark Kent's adoptive mother Martha Kent. Kevin Costner and Viggo Mortensen have also been rumored for the comic book movie.
