Update:

CHICAGO, IL -- William Balfour has been arrested for the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s relatives, Chicago police confirmed to Access Hollywood. Balfour, 27, has been in police custody since October 24, the same day the bodies of Jennifer’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were discovered in the family home. The body of Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was discovered two days later. Balfour was being held on a parole violation at the Statesville Correctional center, but was handed off to the custody of Chicago police after they secured an arrest warrant, according to the Chicago Tribune, which first reported the story. Balfour was arrested on Monday. According to a Chicago police spokesperson, Balfour has been released to detectives and is awaiting formal charges. Balfour, King’s stepfather, and the ex of Jennifer’s sister Julia, was previously described as a person of interest in the investigation.

I know this isn't "celebrity" news per say but this case has been making the headlines from the beginning of this tragic case and this little girl has become a celebrity for tragic reasons.

ORLANDO (AP) — Skeletal remains found in the woods are the Florida 3-year-old who has been missing since June, but they don't reveal any clues about how she was killed, a county medical examiner said Friday. A utility worker stumbled upon the remains last week, less than a half-mile from where the girl lived. DNA tests confirm that the remains match Caylee Anthony's genetic profile, said the medical examiner, Dr. Jan Garavaglia. Caylee's mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, was indicted in October on first-degree murder and other charges, even though no body was found. She has insisted that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but she didn't report her missing until July. INVESTIGATORS: Analyzing child's remains It took authorities several days to analyze the remains, and some tests are still being completed. Some of the bones were as small as a pebble and had been scattered, and the fragments were hard to find by excavators who searched on their hands and knees, authorities said. The bone fragments did not reveal any trauma before death, Garavaglia said, but exactly what happened to the girl remains a mystery. "Bottom line is, folks, no child should have to go through this," said Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary. Other troubling details emerged: Photos surfaced of Anthony partying after her daughter went missing. Friends said she was a habitual liar, but also a good mother. Last month, the Orange County State Attorney turned over almost 800 pages of documents showing someone used the Anthonys' home computer to do Internet searches for terms like "neck breaking" and "household weapons." In mid-March, someone searched Google and Wikipedia for peroxide, shovels, acetone, alcohol and chloroform. Traces of chloroform, which is used to induce unconsciousness and a component of human decomposition, were found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car during forensic testing, the documents say.

I've been following this case pretty closely and it just keeps breaking my heart. I knew she was most likely dead, but that little part of me that was holding out home was crushed. I can't imagine what her grandparents must be feeling right now.

I heard about this, too!! And it breaks my heart to hear that she's dead. I was really hoping she'd be found safe, but with all arrows pointing to her mom's behavior...I knew it wasn't happening. I just don't know how someone could do that to their own kid.

John Travolta's 16-Year-Old Son Dies

John Travolta's 16-year-old son has died, Basil Rahming, the Chief Superintendent of the Grand Bahama Police, confirmed to Usmagazine.com Friday. Travolta's lawyer, Michael Ossi, told TMZ.com, which first reported the news, that Jett suffered a seizure Friday morning at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. He was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival, Rahming told Us. Police spokesperson Loretta Mackey told TMZ that Jett hit his head on the bathtub. A caretaker named Jeff Michael Kathrain found Jett found unconscious in the bathroom around 10 a.m., Rahming told Us. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Obie Wilchcombe, a parliament member and former tourism minister, told the Associated Press Saturday. "We expect a quick resolution," Wilchcombe said. "John spoke with the minister of health and the doctors and police are at the hospital. They're very, very quick to resolve things." Jett's body will be transferred to Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in The Bahamas on Monday, a Restview rep told TMZ. It's been reported that Jett had autism, which Travolta has denied -- instead saying Jett is inflicted with Kawasaki Syndrome (the six-year-old son of Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell has the same diagnosis), which can lead to heart disease. Travolta called Jett "my baby" in an interview with the Australian media several years ago. "He's my first, and he's my heart. And he's a very special boy," Travolta said. "He's Daddy's boy. And...we spend a lot of time together even though I'm pretty busy. He loves the outdoors and he loves to travel. "He loves being on the plane. We fly in the ultralight together," he continued. "And...he likes to climb trees and swim." Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are also parents to daughter Ella, 8. The family arrived to The Bahamas on Dec. 30.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal to Usmagazine.com that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday. "Yesterday was the worst day of [John's] life," Travolta's lawyer and confidant, Michael McDermott, and Michael Ossi, the family's attorney, tell Us in a phone interview (during which they asked all quotes to be jointly attributed). He is seeking an explanation so that this makes sense to him. And his loved ones are trying to provide that to him. "Yesterday was the worst day of his life. Today is probably equally as bad, and if not, it's the second worst day of his life. "John is recognizing the outpouring of support he has got from both the U.S. and the world. He can feel the love and he says it makes him stronger and hopefully it allows him to reconcile. "He is undergoing the pain any father would if they lost his son. Generally a son buries his father, and John thought that would be the way it would go with Jett, not the other way around. "He is in shock. He is emotionally distraught. He is going through many different feelings of disbelief and anger. It's going to take a while for him to feel good again. This is the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to him and he needs to go through a process of healing. John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept. "He had set a vacation for his employees and friends. Forty-nine adults and their children were coming here [to the Bahamas] from Jan. 2nd to 4th. We were all so excited to spend some days with John. We were on the plane and we had no idea, and then we landed and we found out. Every year he holds a party for friends and employees and this year he had the idea to fly us all to his condo. We were planning to hang out on the beach, go for boat rides and spend time with the family.” Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived? Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.” Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms? Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain." Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them? Travolta family doctor observes autopsy of actor's deceased son

Travolta received permission from the Bahamian government to have his physician attend the procedure, lawmaker Obie Wilchcombe told The Associated Press. Authorities are trying to determine what caused the death of 16-year-old Jett, who had a history of seizures and was found unconscious in a bathroom Friday morning. Two doctors, including a U.S.-certified pathologist, were expected to perform the autopsy. Jett's body was expected to be taken to Grand Bahama's Restview Memorial Mortuary later Monday and would be transferred by Wednesday to Ocala, Florida, where the actor owns a home, Wilchcombe said. Wilchcombe, a member of parliament who represents part of Grand Bahama, said he was with the actor after his son was pronounced dead at a Freeport hospital Friday. Travolta, 54, and his wife Kelly Preston, 46, have said that Jett became very sick when he was two years old and was diagnosed with Kawasaki Syndrome, an illness that leads to inflamed blood vessels in young children. Preston blamed household cleaners and fertilizers for his illness and said that a detoxification program based on teachings from the Church of Scientology helped improve his health, according to People magazine. "We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. He said two nannies were with Jett throughout the evening and he does not believe the teen was in the bathroom for a long time. About a dozen security guards and Bahamian police officers patrolled around the luxury Old Bahama Bay resort community Sunday where Travolta and Preston remained inside their home. The white-sand beach in front of the suites was closed. The couple also have an eight-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu. Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham sent condolences to the Travolta family and said the autopsy is a formality the country requires in cases of sudden death to rule out foul play. "We look forward to them being able to have the autopsy today and for the coroner to be able to make a decision so the body can be released," Ingraham told reporters.
