I was so sad, when I heard this, I was like bawling, mainly because I feel bad for Jennifer and her family, and I just can't stand when people hurt kids, because they are innocent and I hope they find the person who did this

Autopsy: Gunshots killed Hudson's nephew Julian King, the 7-year-old nephew of actress-singer Jennifer Hudson, died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death has been ruled a homicide, the Cook County medical examiner's office said this afternoon. Officials declined to say where the boy suffered wounds or how long he had been dead, citing an ongoing Chicago police investigation. The announcement follows an autopsy on Julian's body, which was found in a sport-utility-vehicle parked on a street on the city's West Side on Monday. Also today, the MySpace page of the sister of actress-singer Jennifer Hudson carried a statement -- one day after her 7-year-old son was found fatally shot on Chicago's West Side -- thanking supporters of her family as they cope with the tragedy. Her son, Julian King, was found slain Monday afternoon, three days after her brother and mother were found shot to death in the family's home. She writes: "Now because I chose to do what was natural to me and love someone, it cost me my beautiful family., my wonderful, beautiful, loving, supporting mother Darnell, my true blue baby brother Jason, I love you big baby ... and last but never least, my only son Julian, my innocent baby one that was sheltered from all the evil in the world because we loved him so much." Police Supt. Jody Weis said today the investigation into the slayings of the boy and two other relatives of Hudson's was continuing and there were no new developments. Weis said no weapon has been recovered and police are not sure where Julian was slain. Weis made his comments at an unrelated event for the City Club of Chicago. Investigators' primary suspect remains the estranged husband of Hudson's sister. A police source said the motive in the killings of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew could be related to ongoing disputes between the suspect and his estranged wife, Julia Hudson, and her family. One of those disputes was over unpaid car payments, sources said. William Balfour, 27, remains the focus of the triple-homicide investigation. Hudson's mother and brother had thrown him out of their Englewood house in the past, sources said. Julia Hudson also told police that Balfour had threatened the family. A source said Balfour told Julia Hudson he would kill her if he found out she had a boyfriend, despite the fact that he had other girlfriends. Officers questioned Balfour on Friday night, but he stopped talking when police suggested he take a polygraph. Balfour has not been charged in the slayings. He remains at Stateville Correctional Center, where officials transferred him Sunday morning, saying that because he was a suspect in the slayings, he violated conditions of parole for a 1999 conviction for attempted murder. According to an Associated Press report, documents show Balfour was arrested for drug possession in June, but state officials didn't revoke his parole. The records also say he missed a meeting with his parole agent Friday, the day of the killings. Police have not ruled out the possibility that more than one person was involved. "It wasn't a case of a stranger-type homicide," Weis said Monday. Police believe that Balfour went to the Hudson family home Friday and shot through the front door, striking Hudson's brother, Jason. Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, came into the living room, screaming, and Balfour shot her as well, sources said. Shell casings were also found in the child's room, but there were no bullet holes or other signs of violence there. The nephew was missing. The three-day search for the 2nd grader ended Monday when his body was found slumped in the back seat of an SUV parked on a West Side street. Much of the account of what police believe happened that day came from an interview with a girlfriend of Balfour's, sources said. The sources also said Balfour's girlfriend contradicted his alibi and told police that he was involved in the slayings. In one dispute, sources said, Julia Hudson arrived Friday morning at Sunrise Bus Co. on payday and discovered her wages had been garnished because of unpaid car payments. Sources said Balfour had taken her car months earlier but promised to make the payments on the vehicle. After seeing her pay stub, Julia Hudson called Balfour to complain about the unpaid bills, sources said.

Private Memorial Service for Jennifer Hudson's Family Set for Monday Thursday October 30, 2008 A private memorial service will be held early next week for the mother, brother and nephew of Jennifer Hudson, who were shot to death in Chicago. The Hudson Funeral Home announced the service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Apostolic Church of God, according to the Chicago Tribune. On Friday, a rep from the funeral home will announce if the family will hold a public service, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. See Jennifer Hudson's family album. William Balfour, the ex-husband of Hudson's sister, Julia, is being held as a "person of interest" in the case. Chicago Police say the murders are "domestic-related." The newest issue of Us Weekly reports that Hudson family members didn't take Balfour's threats seriously. Jennifer and Julia Hudson have established the Hudson-King foundation For Families of Slain Victims in honor of their family members. "The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crimes," according to a press release. I'm still so shocked over this whole ordeal.

It's so depressing. I really hope Jennifer is doing okay and has the right people around her at this difficult time.

I half to add that her nephew's killing, not only unnecessary, but seems like complete overkill. I heard on "Nancy Grace" that he was shot 2 or 3 times, I can't recall exactly.

It's really upsetting to hear something like that. I just hope for the child, that it was quick you know.

It seems like a bad movie you know, I mean she was so on top, just won an Oscar, has a new album out, new movie coming out, is engaged to be married, it just seemed she had everything going for her and then this happened.

It's almost surreal you know.

Ugh yep no doubt a movie will show up eventually, her career was just taking off and now erupted with tragedy, they will eat this story up, I saw pictures of the funeral and memorial in front of the house very sad
