So I have The Jane Austen Book Club sitting on my table, and no time to watch it. It's so irritating to walk by it and know I can't/shouldn't pop it in.

Aw, that sucks.

I've only watched it twice but I loved it, though the wig took me a bit to get used to.

I can't wait to get the DVD when it hits shops here next month.

Emily was great in The Jane Austen Book Club. The best thing about the movie which IMO was mediocre.

It wasn't a bad movie just an average one. Emily had some great scenes, especially with her character's husband and discussing Jane Austen's books. I have to admit I hated her hair in the movie...trivial I know.

Her part was far too short in Dan in Real Life. She was the saving grace of that movie.

And it's OK if you dredge up some threads (in particular the lesser known celebrities thread - I consider Emily underrated and I've been dying to post in it but unfortunately there's a rule against DP) to talk about her!

BTW, I read somewhere that she's in consideration to star in The Drowner alongside James McAvoy.

This isn't the same thing I've heard her to be rumoured in with McAvoy, The Devil's Whore. Does it go under two different names? I'm unsure, I'm pretty sick right now my brain isn't functioning properly.

Oh, absolute WORD. I downloaded the film, and beforehand I knew she wasn't in it much, but I watched the whole thing hoping it would be good but I was very disinterested in it until she appeared and I think her scenes where the only ones that actually made me laugh, I didn't earlier in the film and I didn't laugh once more after her scenes. I didn't like the film, I thought it sucked.

I wonder what's happening with Sunshine Cleaning. I'd hate to see it disappear into nothingness, I know it'll get a limited release in the U.S. I just don't want it to harbor my chances of seeing it though we all know there are other ways to get around it.

I don't think Sunshine Cleaning will just disappear into nothingness. I mean, Amy Adams is the new Hollywood It Girl so I'm sure she'd be a big draw. They could make it the next Juno or something. And Emily is pretty well known too.

Emily was just so good in The Jane Austen Book Club! Her character is a total dork who is for the most part disliked or seen as a nerd by the book club members, completely different from anything I've seen her in.
