Kevin Spacey #5: "I fell off the wagon and hurt myself"
*It's a quote from LODG
What can we say of the wonderful beyond words Mr.Spacey? Well, February 2003 Movieline said it best: By the way, do you happen to know, how many actors have even been nominated for 2 Oscars AND won both of them? Well, it's just one actually. Just Kevin, of course. Keep on posting! |

I can't believe it's so quiet in here! It's a shame. The guys is like one of the best actors! I've never posted before but was looking for a thread to spread the Kevin love. He's just amazing. I've just rewatched Seven for the x time. I know he doesn't appear a lot in it, but he's awesome in all his scenes.
I know everyone praises The Usual Suspects but I've never seen it, I really wanna see it. Did any of you guys see it ? [ 02-06-2004: Message edited Eyecatcher ] |

Welcome!!!
Yeah he doesn't have too many fans on ff It's good to see another appreciates Kev though. In Se7en Kev definitely stole the movie within only 20 minutes of airtime. He was spectacular!! Definitely see TUS! It's my 2nd favorite movie of all time...my 1st is American Beauty |

I don't understand how can he not have more fans being the great actor he is. Well, it actually leaves more to us, so I'm not gonna complain
I think Se7en was the very first movie I've seen him star in, and I was just amazed. I'll definitely go rend TUS, wanna see it real bad, I've read ****load of good reviews about it! Linda, I loved K-Pax aswell, that movie just kicked ass. I love how Kevin always plays those weird characters, well let's say unusual. But I really didn't like The Shipping News. Visually the movie was great, the way the story unfolds was also well done, but I really couldn't get into it. At all. I even almost fell asleep Another movie of his that was real great is The Life of David Gale, it was a real good thriller. The end is just had me on my seat. |

Eyecatcher just keep in mind when you watch TUS that it really doesn't make sense until the end and when you get to the end you'll be like "Ohhhhhhhh!" One of the best endings of all time! I, and I know other people who did as well, watched the movie a 2nd time right after the 1st time just to see all I had missed the first time
Life of David Gale is also an amazing movie and it pissed me off the bad reviews he got...I thought he was spectactular |

I've gone to the videoclub trying to find it, but they don't seem to have it. Which I think it kinda weird since they have Darrow, which is like way less popular than TUS is. I guess I'll have to double-check. Btw, I really didn't like Darrow. I'm not gonna say it sucked since Kevin's in it, so it cannot suck but it was pretty boring. Did anyone else see it ? Maybe liked it ?
I'm getting used to Kevin's movies just making sense at the very end. Just like The Negotiator, I seriously thought, Chris was a badass and I was sooo disgusted. Was also surprised to see Ron Rifkin playing a nice guy since I'm so used to Sloane from Alias even if right now he's supposed to be a goodie, so it was no surprise he turned out to be the jerk in the end. Did TLODG get bad reviews ? I wasn't aware of it, and I'm kinda surprised because the movie was actually really great. I know, it didn't make a lot of fuss at the box office or anything, but still, it's a pretty damn great storyline that totally keeps you on the edge of your seat til the end, not to mention the awesome acting. We're so few on this thread. We have to keep it alive! |

I love Kevin, he's brilliant!
I recently saw The Life Of David Gale and was once again not disappointed by his performance. I think K-Pax will always be my Kevin favourite, but LODG was kickass. Quote:

haylz, I think she's talking 2 oscars but different years since he only won in 1996 and 2000 if I recall for TUS and AB.
K-Pax is awesome, definitely on my top favorite Kevin movies. I especially love the dog scene in the garden, I don't know, I think it's such a cool scene. He played great, and the movie was so bizarre I really enjoyed it, it was refreshing to watch! So, yesterday I watched A Time To Kill for the first time cause it aired on TV. Too bad Kevin's role is kinda small compared to Matthew McConnaughey (whatever it's spelled), but the whole movie itself was real good. It's pretty heartbreaking especially when you see the cute little Tonya walking on the street, and you just know the 2 bullies are gonna do something awful, and Kevin plays such a bastard lawyer. It's fun, the guy's just arrogant, my fav line of his is "Oh yeah Brigance, is he still in school ?" That had me rolling. |
