I've been listening to Delta so much more since I started posting at this thread. I'm sure there's a connection!

Thanks for the article Ellie. Seriously, why can't those two get off her back?! You know, if she was not famous and earning millions, they wouldn't even bother. Such selfish people. I'm glad Delta couldn't be "contacted".

Kat, thanks. I feel like a change now though. I wish I still had all of those Delta pics saved. I had to transfer my pics to a CD cuz it was making my comp slow (yeah, I saved that many pics of fandoms) and they didn't seem to want to bring those Delta pics along with them so I have to start from scratch.
You're so totally right. Some people have to learn to make time for others and be nice to them whereas Delta had learn to care for herself so much more than other people.
Eee! I don't really know what to expect from her. I'm thinking something a bit soulful but also "funky". Okay not too much funk but just a little cuz she's older now.

I was just looking on Delta's site and I was wondering how they worked out that that girl bought the 1,000,000th copy of Innocent Eyes.

There was a message on the CD, saying that this was the 1 millionth copy of IE. That's pretty much it.

People need to leave Delta alone and make there own money - she's worked hard and her earnings are just that - her's. They don't belong to those two people.

Lovely LJ icons Evie! I'm snagging some - how would you like to be credited?

Yeah, that's his strategy exactly. And a ridiculous one at that! I couldn't agree more. We know it, and I'm sure, deep down, he knows it too.

It's true, they do!

Yeah. I thought it was the most romantic thing ever too!

I've heard that Vancouver's lovely and clean. The skiing's good there too, right? A few of my snowboarding-mad cousins have taken a few trips there for the snow. I've never skiied, but would love to someday.

I've been there. I had a fixation with "Predictable" for a very long time. I'd stick it on repeat and never tire of it. *sigh*

You're so very welcome for the info, Lara. I'm still searching around for any sign of the DVD, but will let you know if, and when, I find it.

He has to know, unless he's been living under a rock

I like to think it is lovely and clean! The skiing here is great - we have beautiful mountains! Whistler, which is a few hours away, is playing host to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. I am not a huge fan of skiing - I don't like it that much.

I need "Predictable" - but first I have to get past IE which I don't think I can do! We should start a support group!

It's been a huge help to me Kat! Thanks so much!

Idol judge in Delta claim
By Nui Te Koha
July 20, 2004

AUSTRALIAN Idol judge Mark Holden claims Delta Goodrem owes him money.
Holden wants to clarify terms of a contract he has with Goodrem and record label, Sony Music, to act as her musical adviser.

It is understood Holden is chasing all consultancy fees owed to him under the terms of the contract.

Sources fluent with the deal claim the amount owed to Holden may run into six figures.

"Mark is very unhappy with the circumstances," a source said yesterday.

"Like everyone else, he feels he had a little bit to do with Delta getting heard in the first place. He feels slighted."

An industry source confirmed Holden's role with the pop princess.

"Mark was on a retainer with Sony," the source said. "He was on a quasi-advisory agreement paid by the label.

"Admittedly, I could never figure out the relationship. Sony was filled with artist and repertoire people. But Mark was brought on as a consultant and he wrote some great songs with Delta."

Holden accompanied Goodrem on a songwriting trip to Europe in 2001.

They co-wrote three tracks, including the sad A Year Ago Today, on Goodrem's hit album, Innocent Eyes.

Yesterday, Holden declined to comment on his situation. "I do not feel comfortable talking about this particular subject," Holden said.

Holden, Idol's jargon-gibbering judge, is an artist manager and hitmaker. His legal moves coincide with looming court action against Goodrem from her former music producers.

Trevor Carter and Paul Higgins will lodge a statement of claim against Goodrem and her parents, Lea and Dennis, in the Supreme Court this week.

Carter and Higgins, of Empire Records, want the right to release a 13-track album recorded with Goodrem between 1999 and 2000.

It is understood Higgins and Carter are also chasing unpaid royalties.

Industry experts say the so-called lost Goodrem album is worth a multi-million dollar sum to Empire.

Higgins and Carter have refused to comment on looming legal action against Goodrem.

Delta's second coming
By Christine Sams
July 20, 2004
The Sun-Herald

Delta Goodrem will release her second album in November after recording several final tracks in Britain.

I bumped into the singer backstage at Party in the Park in London's Hyde Park and she revealed her excitement about recording and releasing new songs.

After describing her new-found level of energy something which is precious to the 19-year-old, given her battle with Hodgkin's disease Goodrem said her new CD was likely to be released within four months.

Not only has she been busy recording new tracks in London, Goodrem has also enjoyed a few local dance classes just for the fun of it.

The singer seemed very relaxed away from the intense media pressure in Australia, and admitted she has enjoyed taking time out overseas.

Interestingly, mum Lea Goodrem who has accompanied Goodrem to the US and Britain in the past few months has returned to Australia. Goodrem is spending time in London with her boyfriend, Mark Philippoussis, but is also focusing on finalising her new songs.

Goodrem went backstage at Party in the Park to meet up with Darren Hayes, who performed three songs at the high-profile event including his brilliant new tongue-in-cheek single, Popular. (The track is already being played on radio in Australia, despite not being on sale in record stores yet. Be on the lookout for his new video clip in coming weeks.)

After their catch-up backstage at Party in the Park, Hayes took Goodrem to the opening of Spider-Man 2 in Leicester Square last Monday night.

The two singers have forged a friendship since Hayes appeared at last year's ARIA awards to perform Goodrem's single Lost Without You. (Interestingly, the pair did not know each other before the performance and only met face-to-face for the first time six months after Hayes made the surprise appearance).

Goodrem said she expects to spend another two to three weeks recording in London before returning to Australia.

Novemberrrrr, baby! -marks month in calendar- Yay, now I can't wait.

And that's funny, that she didn't even know Darren Hayes before or until late after the ARIAs.

Yes okay. They should give them away to fans for free if that's so. But of course it's not..They want the money.

Woo. Novemberr!

Dancing lessons hmm. I wonder if she'll incorporate her new dancing knowledge into future shows..

I don't know much of the details but it looks like all they did was provide a space for her to sing some songs. It's hardly worth crediting for shaping her into a superstar..that goes to Sony.

I'd like to say no because then I'd be buying into it and giving them their precious money but yes, yes I would..I like some of the old stuff..

I'm with you, I probably would, because I love delta and just love her work and would like some older stuff. YOu know, making the collection complete and all that.

But I don't know the way it's being done. There has to be reasons why it hasn't been released and all that, maybe it's due to the fact Delta didn't like the way things were going musically back then or what not. But whatever happens, I really hope they respect her wishes.

By the sounds of T.T. Delta didn't want to be a Australian Britney Spears, and I don't blame her.
