I'd actually rather they don't do Played With Fire and Kicked the Hornets Nest if Fincher isn't onboard. Fincher is such a remarkable director and TGWTDT was oozing of Fincherism, having the two remaining film being directed by someone else would just be weird. That's what happened with the Swedish version; Män som hatar kvinnor was directed by Niels Arden Oplev, whilst Flickan som lekte med elden and Luftslottet som sprängdes were directed by Daniel Alfredson, and the difference between the two directors was big.

When it comes to films of the calibre that Dragon Tattoo set. If it's not the same director, it won't have the same feel and it will either flop, or be mediocre.

From Instagram, Daniel has a beard going on and I kind of dig it:

I wanna see this play so bad, you guys have no idea, I would almost be willing to give up my firstborn in return for good seats on the premiere night
Not only is it Dan and Rachel playing together on stage, but Rafe Spall (so hot though) is also in it and I love Pinter's plays (and they're just not the same in Danish as they are in English) *sigh*.

I mean, standing up in front of people and pretending to know what you're talking about is hard enough in any profession.

Yes. I mean, it doesn't make my choices good, though. I wish it could give me taste.
lolll Dan

another success for Dan

Broadway Box Office: ‘Betrayal’ Booms with Daniel Craig

Powered by the Broadway return of Daniel Craig, the starry revival of “Betrayal” made a boffo B.O. bow last week, vaulting into the millionaires’ club with just seven previews under its belt.

Show, co-starring Rachel Weisz and Rafe Spall, rang in $1,100,818 for its seven shows (one fewer than the traditional eight, to which “Betrayal” will step up next week), breaking the Barrymore Theater box office record that had previously been set by another star-driven revival, “Death of a Salesman,” in 2012. Like “Betrayal,” “Salesman” was helmed by Mike Nichols and produced by a commercial team led by Scott Rudin.

Production’s stellar sales come as no surprise, given the advance hype that the show had essentially sold out it limited run even before performances started. The new staging of Harold Pinter’s 1978 drama also marks a return to the Rialto for Craig, who already demonstrated his legit B.O. muscle when he co-starred with Hugh Jackman in the hit play “A Steady Rain” in 2009.

“Betrayal” helped push overall Broadway sales up last week compared to the prior frame, as did the concurrent but less spectacular start of previews for Manhattan Theater Club’s Mary-Louise Parker topliner “The Snow Geese” ($200,041 for seven). For the second week in a row, the much-lauded revival of “The Glass Menagerie” ($641,797), boosted by rave reviews and a cast that includes Zachary Quinto, logged the biggest gain of the sesh in a week that saw almost every individual title rise, if to a lesser degree.

The Rialto revival of “The Trip to Bountiful” ($673,002 for seven) also posted a healthy bump attributable to the fact that it was the last full week of perfs for the production, for which Cicely Tyson picked up a Tony, before it closes Oct. 9.

New musical “Big Fish” ($643,550) slipped, but that’s to be expected in a week that accommodated press perfs and the heavily comped Oct. 6 opening. Legiters won’t know for a few weeks just how severely sales will be dampened by the tuner’s fresh crop of mostly mixed-to-downbeat reviews.

Orlando Bloom starrer “Romeo and Juliet” ($366,705) also was down, slipping about 19%, and struggling tuner “Soul Doctor” ($111,912) continued to look terminal.

Overall Broadway cume rose nearly $2 million to $21.4 million for 28 shows now running, and attendance climbed to 215,124. With big-money outing “Betrayal” launching and more shows still joining the slate, sales look poised to continue to climb in the coming weeks.
