Chris Eccleston Appreciation Thread

Not sure if many posters here have heard of Chris but I thought I'd start a thread for this awesome man.

Chris is notably most famous for his role as the Ninth Doctor in Doctor Who but he has been in much, much more then that.

His bio includes:
*Elizabeth
*Jude
*Flesh & Blood
*Heart*
*Revenger's Tragedy*
*Invisible Circus
*The Others (played Nicole Kidman's husband)
*The Dark is Rising
*I Am Dina*
*Let Him Have It*
*Doctor Who
*Cracker*
*Our Friends in the North
There is obviously more to his bio but this is just a selection

5) green eyes sparkle

He is also due to play Destro in the upcoming G.I Joe film

A Few pics:

As the Doctor.

Thanks for the thread! I'm a big fan. I don't watch Doctor Who but I loved his character in Heroes and I loved him in 28 days later. Fantastic actor!

Great pictures!

He is.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Claude Raines I don't watch Heroes normally but checked it out for Chris and I Claude. What an awesome character.

Yep he was awesome in 28 Days Later Should check out Chris's role as the Doctor in DW, he really goes for it. It's a shame he only did one season though. Still, I have the boxset and just adore it

Hehe, I always recognize him by his voice and accent!

I should check DW reruns to see if they have one of his. I'm sure I'll be lost but I could check out CE's performance.

Chris's series is the first series of New Doctor Who so I'm sure it'd be not too hard to follow. I mean I first watched it from the David Tennant era so in a way, it was even harder for me But Chris is absolutely brilliant as the Doctor His performance in every episode is wonderful, never a dull moment.

I never watched Doctor Who until I started with the new series of Doctor Who. I loved Chris in the role. It was hard for me to see David as the new doctor at first.

I actually didn't know that, very cool! I'm more eager to see those episodes now! I've always been curious about DW.

I never really thought much of it until I actually sat down to watch it properly. I was instantly taken in

I've just watched 'Jude' again, starring Chris and also Kate Winslet. One of my favourite films ever, it's so heartbreaking and powerful. Chris does an amazing performance. I cried and it's really difficult to make me cry at a film!

Jude... I think I've heard of it but I've never seen it.

Hee, I'm telling you, I always hear about it and I'm so curious to know what it's all about.

Mel - didn't know you watched DW as well.

See, everyones in on it but me.

I've never seen Jude either. I'll have to add it to my list.

Nikki - Everyone around got me curious about it and I finally checked it out last summer.

I was a latecomer to DW too, I really loved the David Tennant era but then I watched Chris's Season and I just completely fell in love with the whole show. I really wish Chris had done more then one season but I respect his decision to leave

Jude is beautiful, I've never read the novel by Thomas Hardy so can't compare the book to the film but I adored the film. Chris was outstanding. Kate was good too, though she was slightly flat at times.

Chris is going to be doing theatre work in London during the summer He's starring alongside Gillian Anderson in 'A Doll's House'. I'll try and find more info Unfortunately tickets are all sold out for the moment which is irritating but not really surprising.
