I had heard he was supposed to be Gambit! I would love to see him in such a film! So there's still no official word if it's a go or not?

Yeah it may be a long wait, but it's all good since Channing will be Gambit. I waited for my other superhero movies to come out.
Those haters are so jealous throwing shade at him being in the X-Men franchise. |

I think he fits the action genre as well. The X-Men execs said Channing wanted to prepare and lock himself in the role of Gambit, which is why there were matters with the movie. He wants it done right.
