Bryce Dallas Howard #1: Cause She's Not a Hollywood Brat!

This is an apperication thread for 25 year old Bryce Dallas Howard who plays Ivy in "The Village". She is also the daughter of famed Hollywood director Ron Howard. :)

I loved her in The Village. She is a very talented actress. I can't wait to see what she does next.

Hey and welcome to the thread! I'm glad to see someone posted here! :)

Bryce was great in "The Village"! She is talented! I think she was the perfect person to play Ivy Walker. :)

I LOVED Bryce in the village. M. Night kept on praising her and then after I saw the movie I realized why. She is increadible talented. She made the movie so touching and heartwarming and her story and character really made the movie for me.

Hey Skateberg and welcome to the thread!

ITA, I can totally see why M. Night praised her - she is incredibly talented! I loved her story and character! The way she portrayed Ivy was perfect. I could really see the character coming though. I loved the love story between Ivy and Lucius. The two of them really made this movie for me. :)

Bryce is in this week's issue of "People" magazine:

I love this one, it really shows Ivy's innocence

Her praise was well deserved. She was perfect as Ivy and Joaquin Phoenix was perfect as Lucius. Those two certainly made the movie for me as well.

I love your av Brenda! I love that scene in the film...so cute! :sigh:

I think it's great that M. Night cast an unknown to take on the main role of Ivy! He probably could have cast someone else who is more established, but he chose to put Bryce in the film instead - a gamble that worked! I also like how Bryce didn't use her father connections to get the role - M. Night saw her in the play "As You Like It" and decided to cast her then. She got the role on her own!

ITA Brenda both Bryce and Joaquin were perfect for there roles - and they had chemistry and played off each other nicely! :)

I think Bryce has a good career in front of her! Her next film is Manderlay which will be relased in 2005. I think it's a sequel to "Dogville" which starred Nicole Kidman as Grace, the role that Bryce is playing. :)

I saw those avs, they are awesome! :)

n e r b l e - ITA she's naturally pretty and very talented! I can't believe "The Village" was her first film - what a stellar debut! She was perfectly suited for the role! Hopefully we'll see her in more films in the future! :)

What do you mean by "x 10492804"? :look:

I LOVED her in The Village. Me and my friend we're gushing for HOURS about her after we watched. We even contemplated making a fan-site for her, but it will have to wait until we're more settled. Honestly she made the movie for us. I didn't think it was a bad movie (not at all) but had she not been playing Ivy it could have been a whole different story. I can't wait until she starts working more. And she will.

Welcome to the thread DropsofJupiter! I totally agree, I loved her in "The Village"! I cannot believe it was her first film. She was really great in it - playing a blind person I imagine, is hard work, and she managed to not overdo it, but not underdo it as well. She was superb in it! I loved the film (mainly for Ivy and Lucius) and, you're right if someone else had been playing the role of Ivy that would have been different. I read that the role had been offered to Kirsten Dunst who dropped out to play in Elizabethtown. I'm glad Bryce got the role. :)

ITA, Bryce will working more, she has the talent! :)

Anyone know what her next movie is about? I know it's a sequel to something and she was taking over Nicole Kidman's role.
