First her costume is green and later she ads the classic colours.

green/black/silver are the colors of the Kree Empire military, and Starforce, and the red/blue/gold are the colors of Captain Mar Vell, her mentor in the comics. when he is killed in action with the Skrulls, Carol wears his colors as a memorial to him. she also wears his formal uniform sash around her waist.
