That was kind of the moment when it was totally surreal and I didn’t get it.” Matt, who has yet to meet the real Cooper himself, said he wouldn’t trade his normal life for that of the Oscar-nominated star’s. “At the end of the day, it’s actually enlightening because it’s not a great life to be under the spotlight and to go to these events or parties or bars or whatever,” Matt said. “Everyone is asking for pictures or autographs to boost their status. It comes at the expense of [a celebrity’s] privacy — of their being able to be and act like a normal human.” The Utah-based entrepreneur added that it’s actually “kind of a daily struggle” and that he "wouldn’t want that life at all.” For the record, Matt also said he never claimed to be Cooper at Sundance afterparties, but that he was always just invited to “come right in” by publicists. !

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk did not split up nor does the model have a “new man,” despite a slew of inaccurate reports. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We’re told it’s “completely untrue.” According to RadarOnline, Cooper and the model broke up “following a series of explosive fights and one too many disagreements with Cooper’s mom.” The webloid, which foolishly relied on reporting from The Sun without fact-checking it, quotes a so-called “insider” saying, “Things went south over the Christmas period” between Shayk and Cooper, with the two often having “arguments” about the actor’s mom. Additionally, claim the misguided outlets, after Shayk and Cooper’s mom “began to butt heads,” the actor’s mother “didn’t want” the strong-willed, Russian model for her son. And while the outlet says Shayk was “devastated” by the breakup, it alleges, “She has already moved on with another man, a British model by the name of Stephen James.” “Irina always seems to pick the wrong men so she’s taking it slowly with Stephen but the fact they were friends first helps a lot,” says a so-called “source.” There’s one teensy-weensy problem with this story: Cooper and Shayk have not split up at all nor does she have a “new man.” A source close to Cooper tells Gossip Cop that tales about a breakup and his girlfriend and mother fighting are “completely untrue.” In fact, we’re told the model is tight with Cooper’s mom. Oh, and there’s one other problem as well with the webloid’s story: Cooper and Shayk were spotted earlier this week walking hand-in-hand in New York. Of course, Gossip Cop is not entirely surprised that RadarOnline is wrong about Cooper and Shayk splitting up. In 2013, we exclusively busted the site when it fabricated a tale about Taylor Swift “desperately” pursuing Cooper in a effort to date him. Not only did Gossip Cop slam the story as false, but Cooper himself also told Howard Stern a couple of years later that the outlet’s report was “horse[expletive].”

Cult rockers Animal Collective snubbed the chance to help score Bradley Cooper's 2011 movie Limitless. The Peacebone stars reveal they were approached by director Neil Burger to produce original music for the film, about a struggling writer who develops superhuman abilities, but they soon discovered he just wanted something similar to their 2009 hit Summertime Clothes. "We got asked to do some music for that movie Limitless while they were filming it," Geologist, aka Brian Weitz, told fans during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, "but when we talked to the director he just wanted something that sounded like an instrumental version of 'Summertime Clothes' which we weren't very excited about." The soundtrack ended up featuring tracks by The Black Keys, Ash Grunwald, Conway Twitty, and Versus, among others. Limitless, based on Alan Glynn's 2001 novel The Dark Fields, has since been adapted for TV. Its first season, starring Jake MCDorman, is currently airing in the U.S.

Director Dan Trachtenberg deploys a range of Hitchcock-style tricks to establish characters and crank up layers of intensity, keeping everything unnervingly close to the boiling point. Her fiance (voiced by Bradley Cooper) calls and tries to coax her into coming back, but she drives on determinedly. Then as the radio reports news of rolling unexplained blackouts, she's in a serious car crash and wakes up chained to a pipe in an unfinished room. Her host Howard (John Goodman) claims to have saved her life, bringing her to his fallout bunker just as everyone above-ground was killed by some sort of attack. And there's another guy taking refuge in the bunker, the rather goofy Emmett (John Gallagher Jr.), who like Michelle doubts Howard's story and rebels against his strict rules. This is a rare film that manages to create thoroughly believable characters in just a few moments of back-story, then push them together in ways that continually surprise us. The snappy script uses wit and suggestion to undermine scenes with subtext as their power games escalate. So the tug of war between these three people has both subtle layers of intrigue as well as some seriously nasty conflict. Where this goes is impossible to predict, because all three actors are so good at portraying characters who are only pretending to trust each other. Goodman has never played a role like this, and is excellent as a nerdy religious nutcase who may or may not be a psychopath. Gallagher adds continual touches that undermine Howard's authority. And Winstead anchors the film as a smart, resourceful woman who refuses to accept anything at face value. Accompanied by Bear McCready's nerve-jangling musical score, the film builds a relentlessly oppressive atmosphere that can't help but be a bit disappointing when it finally bursts into all-out chaos. Thankfully, Trachtenberg avoids being too explicit about showing everything that's going on here, depicting the climactic events without resorting to cheap visuals or obvious moralising. This makes the film thoroughly entertaining from start to finish, like a perfectly designed rollercoaster. But without any underlying resonance, the movie's impact is oddly muted.
