| Fan Forum's Finest | Here's my view on them. We've seen the first season when the first talk about their father, we saw that Dean and Sam's view on their father is very much different... SAM: When I told Dad I was afraid of the thing in my closet, he gave me a .45. DEAN: Well, what was he supposed to do? SAM: I was nine years old! He was supposed to say "don't be afraid of the dark!" DEAN: "Don't be afraid of the dark," are you kidding me!? Of course you should be afraid of the dark. You know what's out there! But I think John, as obssessed as he is in killing the YED, is more afraid of his boys' well being than anything else. When Sam left home for college in S1, John must've thought that Sam would be much vulnerable to the horrors of the world. I believe that John's belief was strength in numbers, that's why whe Sam went aways, John got mad, and drove his son farther away. Don't read if you haven't heard anything about the last episode of the 2nd season

| Fan Forum's Finest | I've added all of us to the first post. Aw, yes, I agree that both men are actually just the same. Sam's more ike his father than Dean is. Sam's stubborness comes from his genes. I think most people didn't understand Sam in Season 1 so they have judged him that he's just so stupid. But then again, after knowing your mum died because of you and your dad got so obsessed with the YEd - then what else would a normal young kid hope for? Of course, to get away. But Sam didn't know that John was only protecting him and Dean. Maybe John knew before why the YED came in the first place. If yes, then he knew so well that Sam might be in grave danger.__________________
