| Fan Forum's Finest   | Jared in SPN 5.17 "99 Problems" Episode Discussion 99 Problems April 8, 2010 The CW  Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are outnumbered by demons, but are saved at the last minute by Rob (guest star Michael Shanks) and his townspeople, who are aware of the Apocalypse, and have been training to fight and kill demons. The small town is very religious and Sam and Dean meet Pastor Gideon (guest star Larry Poindexter), who introduces them to his daughter Leah (guest star Kayla Mae Maloney), whom he claims is a prophet. Leah tells the townspeople they must obey her orders if they want a spot in Heaven but when she starts turning the townspeople against each other in the name of the Lord, the brothers realize they must kill her. | After watching the new episode I am really depressed. I hate this ending so much I can´t put it into words without cursing. But this is not allow in here so just imaging me writing all the bad words that aren´t allowed here. Where did that coming from? Lisa & Ben? Really? That is the person Dean wants to say goodbye, too. Not Sam, not Castiel and not BOBBY!!!!! Bobby was always and I mean always there for him. Supported him to all the bad times. And Dean didn´t give him that much of a thought to say goodbye before he does something Michaelstuppid. I am so angry and sad right now.... When the last episode aired I defending him that I can understand why he is hurt and why he is throwning the amulet away. But this time I am really pissed about him. And what are the writers thinking by bringing her back? Don´t get me wrong Jensen was again really great in that scene and he sold the emotions quite well. But I don´t like the way Dean is acting in it. He leaves Sam without any explanation and without saying goodbye at all. I don´t think that Sam deserves such a behaviour. Back to the beginning of that episode. I liked the start and when the other "hunters" appeared and saved them. But I have a problem with it, too. Sam is hurt at the arm/shoulder and makes faces as if he is really hurt. But after the break when they start talking and Dean showed them their arsenal it is as if it is almost forgotten and never mentioned again in this episode. It seems that Sam hasn´t any problems with his arm or shoulder again in this episode. I like the little talk Sam and Dean are having in the motelroom before Dean disappeared to clear his head. It shows that Dean has really given up and that he is just empty and broken and hasn´t the will to keep fighting. Normally I don´t like it when Castiel hasn´t any purpose in an episode. But this time I am really liking his scenes. And he had some truly helpful informations for them. I don´t know what else I could say about this episode. Maybe more from me later. After watching the three clips for the next one - I am really looking forward to it. My thoughts about the clips for the next episode I put into spoilertags. Hope this is ok?

| Sunny, I agree with you whole-heartedly! There should have been some other stuff going on earlier in the episode to fill up the time (like giving Michael Shanks more lines), & then it should have ended with Dean taking off. SPN didn't jump the shark, but the ending was extremely incongruous. & it will be heavily misinterpreted by many. | |||

| Fan Forum's Finest | I um wow! I am so freakin angry right now I just can't even talk about it. I keep trying to have faith in Dean and understand him and see things from his point of view but this I can't get over it! Lisa and Ben. Some girl from his past and a kid he met once, what the hell is that? Not even Sam or Bobby. This is crazy. After everything that he's been through with Sam and Bobby he didn't give them a second thought when it came to saying goodbye. Not even Cas who he's supposedly been so close with. No of course he goes to Lisa cause that makes sense!  I am just so mad right now but I do want to say that I loved Sam in this episode as always and when he was trying to convince Dean that they can do it and Dean just leaves. I hate that now Sam is the one that wants to always save the world and Dean wants the normal life their roles have completely reversed probably a long time ago and I'm just seeing it now but I hate it. __________________ Natasha "We're going to be happy, Lex. | Dean is giving up & giving in. He doesn't want a normal life. Sam wanting to save the world isn't anything like Dean's commitment to being a hunter. Sam wants to save the world so that someday he can have a normal life. I just don't get this Lisa thing. He's had a string of ladies, but I really thought the he liked Cassie or even Anna more. (Frankly, I would have liked to have seen him more affected by Anna's betrayal & death.) Having said all that, I'm not giving up on the show. There has to be a rhyme & reason as to why Dean is acting this way. | |||
