Dean threw away his necklace!!!!!!!!

this was a really great episode. I felt so bad for Dean when all his happy memories were of his mom and Sam and then Sammys were of all the times he got away from everything. Dean looked so upset and hurt by that.

Loved loved seeing Ash that was awesome. He was the best and im so glad that we got to see him again.
And Pam so awesome wish we got her and Sam but still loved seeing her again.

Joshua telling them that God wants them to stop and has basically given up was crap. I was so pissed at that how are they supposed to stop everything now its like they have no chance in winning. I felt bad for Cas as well he was doing everything he could to find God and now it was all just a waste of time and now that is how Dean feels as well.
I do understand that the necklace is useless now to finding God and all that but it was still the necklace that Sam gave Dean when they were kids and it was supposed to mean something so to see Dean just throw it away broke my heart and the look on Sams face he was so hurt and sad. Man it makes me feel likethese brothers are never going to work things out

I am still overwhelmed by the last episode - so forgive me if my thoughts gets mixed up.

I really love the whole episode. It was heartbreaking and sad and lots of brothermoments.

Jared and Jensen did an amazing job in this one. All the looks they share with each other telling you more then 1000 words can tell.
I feel so bad for both of them. Dean is so broken and has given up all his hope. When all of Sams memories doesn´t included him it breaks his heart for sure.
And I feel bad for Sam because all his happy memories have now a bittersweet taste to it because of the way they make Dean feel.

When I tink about the memories I think that Zachariah has his hands in this. He wants to break Dean more then anything so that he says yes. So he let Dean only see the memories of Sam which hurt him the most and doesn´t included him. We the audience know that Sam has other good memories of Dean when they were young.
Therefore Dean has nothing left to fight for or has nobody left who stops him from saying yes.

I love Ash in this episode - it was so much fun to see him back.
It was nice to see Pamela back - but what she tells Dean I don´t get it. Maybe it was influenced by Zachariah, too.

When their mum appears for the first time - it was so sweet for Dean - some needed comfort. And for Sam it was so sad because she doesn´t so him at all.
And then Deans "one minute, Sam" - I had to swallow hard. Jensen was brilliant here.
Her second appearance was so horrible with the yellow eyes and what she told the boys. My heart broke in thousand peaces.

Then came Joshua!!!! I like this guy and I love it that he told Zachariah he has to stop again and that he is loosing again. The face from Zachariah was a dream come true. Kurt played it perfectly.

What I don´t like is that god know all of it and says that it is none of his business. He has done enough - hello???? He is suppose to be the helping hand and the father of all kind of creaturen. He should care - he should care more then anyone else.

And then came the end. Which kills me for sure. Castiel is devastated and gives Dean the amulet back. Dean is even more devastated and heartbroken then ever and has lost all of his hope he had left. And he is heartbroken because of the memories of Sam. Sam is the only one left standing from Team FreeWill. He tries to encourage Dean by saying that they find another way together. But Dean doesn´t believe in together anymore. Without another word to Sam he throws the amulet in the trash.
Sam looks so hurt then. But I believe that he isn´t hurt because it is a present from him which he gave to Dean. But rather he sees how broken and hopeless Dean is now. He feels for Dean and look so worried about him.

I hope that Sam will pull the amulet out of it and takes it with him and gives it back to Dean in the right moment. I believe that he will be there for Dean and because now he knows how it looks inside of Dean, he knows how to fix him and be there for him. Not matter if Dean wants it or not.

First, I'd like to touch on the topic of Dean throwing the necklace away. So he already gave up on Sam as well? I know Sam hasn't been the most perfect brother in the world but to throw it in Sam's face is being insensitive.

On Zach having some sort of control to what happy thoughts/memories to show could be a possibility, too. I'm sure there are some happy memories that Sam has as well that Dean's included.

it's good to see Ash and Pamela again.

Exactly Gay, I don't understand how he can give up on Sam after everything they've been through. Sure Sam has made a lot of mistakes but hasn't he been making up for them all year!! And if this is about the whole famine thing and Sam going back to his old ways because of that then its crap. Nobody could control their urges when Famine was around but at least Sam was strong enough to try. If that is the reason that Dean is giving up on Sam and we didn't even get to see any conversation or anything about it before Dean just threw away the necklace then I'm gonna be pissed. It makes no sense, Dean just shuts down and blocks Sam out no matter how much Sam tries to talk to him and make things right Dean never wants to talk about their problems instead he will do things like throw the necklace away right in front of Sam and you could see the pain on Sam's face of how much that truly hurt him

I hear you Nat. That is exactly my pain, too. I never had issues with Dean (just petty stuff) but that last scene was just plain insensitivity.

I don´t think it was all about the Demonblood. I think that he is hurt because none of Sams memories in heaven included him. I don´t say that Sam should feel bad about having them but I can see why it hurts Dean. He did everything in his power to protect Sam and give him something like a childhood and it seems that Sam doesn´t appreciate it. We the audience know that it is not the case but Dean has such a low selfesteem that he sees it that way. He isn´t sure if of himself at all and he always thinks about himself that he is not worth saving. But although he hopes that his brother and the people he loves the most are seeing more in him than he himself does. So to see these memories which are really bad times for Dean - which is crucial enough by itself - and realise that these are actually happy times for Sam it must hurt Dean.

And that is the exact reason why Zachariah choose them. I believe that he is behind this. He wants to break Dean or more he needs to break Dean and that he can only archive if Dean and Sam are on bad terms. Otherwise why would none of Sams happy memories included Jessica. And I am sure that there are a lot more happy memories for Dean then when his parents are fighting over the phone.

You must keep in mind that the original previous episode was the one with famine. Dean was hurt by what famine said and it killed him to hear Sam going through the detox again. He was so desperate that he started praying (and then although he doesn´t believe in an higher power). So he is already devastated and then has to relive some of the worse moments in his life. And to top it all Sam hadn´t notice till that day what his actions had caused for Dean. Then his last hope - God - turns his back on him, too.

I can understand why he feels lost and hopeless is hurt because of it.

Don´t get me wrong it broke my heart to see Dean throwing away the amulet in front of Sam. But I think that Sam didn´t look hurt because Dean throw it away. He was hurting for Dean and looked sorrowful because he saw and realised how broken and hopeless his brother is right now.

So I can´t hate or be angry at Dean for throwing away this amulet when he is already on the ground. It would feel like kicking a wounded animal.

I do understand where you are coming frm Sunny and what you are saying does make sense I know that Dean was hurt by Sams memories but Im like you in thinking that Zacariah is trying to break them apart so Dean will give into Michael but I was just hoping that their bond could be strong enough to withstand that and it hurts me now to know that it isnt. That a few painful memories for Dean could be the breaking point of him turning his back on his brother
