Ya I've never seen Jared do emotional so well. He makes you feel and understand everything he is feeling with just a look

Jared was absolutely amazing in Metamorphosis, he really portrayed Sam's hurt and vulnerability, anger, everything in that episode; even his face showed so much emotion, it broke me

That's why I love angsty stuff in SPN. It makes me feel so much. It makes me mad that I'm so engross with Sammy and Dean but at the same time, it feels great.

WORD. It's so important that the show has a huge emotional impact, but with the guys working so amazing together, the impact is brutal sometimes. I'm sure Kripke himself couldn't have imagined those 2 dudes making his show come to life in this way.

^^ I completely agree, the closeness of the relationship that the guys have off-screen is completely mirrored onscreen, and that's why the angst is sometimes so brutal when it drives the points home. And I know, if I was Kripke, I couldn't have asked for anything more

Sooo true! In the last episode, when Sam is down and Dean tries to cheer him up saying that maybe other angels are different... That was so touching, and you could feel that Dean really hated that Sam had a let down like that. It was amazing and you can't get that kind of honesty out of everyone like that. They're perfect.

I agree Nikki. I love their chemistry, they bring the best out of each other.

I love watching Sam's disappointed face when he learned about Uriel and Castiel. His first reaction was like he was so glad to meet them and wanted to shake hands. Then he was really disappointed when he found out their plan. Jared's face can go from very happy to very disappointed and make me feel what's he's really feeling.

The look on his face when Uriel said he didn't obey. Thar defensive look and painful look at the same time. He let his brother down, he let the angels down - but he had nothing else to do. He believed that it was the last resort and nobody was on his side, just because he used his powers.

Jeez, that must be so hard for Sam.

Great post, Gay! JP did a lot of wonderful things with Sam in "The Great Pumpkin..." He was surprised, excited, bashful, then tense, then sad, then downright disappointed and not one second was false or overplayed. He was perfect.

That scene you referenced when he's both scared but defiant of Uriel, that was SO well played. The rebellion in his eye brewing, the sadness ever present, so nicely acted. Hm.

He doesn't even have to talk a lot of the time.

Even in Gilmore Girls when he was starting out he has some amazing bits of acting, both funny and dramatic. Seems like he's a natural.
