I do not find this episode epic or great but I also do not find it boring. I had hoped for more then we got but maybe on the second watch I will find it better. So here is my take on what I think about this episode.


I had high expectation for this episode.
Even if it was a good episode I was a little disappointed afterwards.

There is nothing bad in this episode. Every actor was great and the storyline was good, too.
But what I had hoped for was a little more insight into Dean. That we would get some new informations about him. We knew already that he is full of guilt for things that weren´t under his control. What I wanted to know is for example: Why he feels that he is 90% crap? And as good as it was to see Jo back I think that Dean would feel more guilty about what he did in hell.
That matter once again was thrown under the table and not touched at all. I would love to see how he feels about it now after some time has past. And I really would have loved to see who this last witness would have been. I am pretty sure that Dean knew who would come next and I doubt it would have been Amy. Just some looks into his souls and his emotions.

So overall I like this episode and I love the talk at the car in the end. Even if I can´t believe that Dean would seriously asked Sam why he defends him.
Dean is so messed up and broken that he can´t see that his brother still loves and adore him. Poor Dean! I feel so bad for him.

I don´t know if I am seeing thing but I got the feeling that Dean was a little suicidal.
He did not have any motivation to work this job or to do anything then going in a bar and drink. Not that I blame him – everyone has their limit about what they can handle.
And what scared me the most was that he didn´t really fight for his life or defense himself at all.
Again I feel so bad for him and hope that – now that Sam is guilt-free- that he can bring Dean to open up and help him in the healing process.
It would be time to do some healing because the other option isn´t really an option.

I really enjoyed this episode. I was so excited for it and it didn't disappoint for me.

I do agree though that it would have been nice to get more insight into Dean because most of what was said we did already know about him. It was sad though to see that he still feels so guilty about everything. He carries way too much with him. Sam was right when he was defending him, none of that is in his control. I wish that Dean would just believe him. I enjoyed all the scenes with Dean and Jo and I'm glad that Dean could see that she is happy now and he didn't really ruin her life. It was what she was destined for when she chose to become a hunter.
The end scene was so great. I love that Sam is happy now, he does deserve it, they both do. Ya he has done a lot of bad things but I do think he paid for his sins while he was in hell. Both boys messed up but there should be a balance and their good deeds way way outweigh the bad. It is so great to hear Sam say that he is happy, I can't remember the last time that happened.
