First Hour:
DEAN'S WORST NIGHTMARE COMES TRUE - A demon kidnaps Ben (guest star Nicholas Elia) and Lisa (guest star Cindy Sampson) to get to Dean (Jensen Ackles). Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean are forced to join with an unlikely ally to free them. Sera Gamble directed the episode written by John Showalter.
Second Hour:

The wall comes down in Sam's (Jared Padalecki) head and all hell breaks loose. Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Bobby (Jim Beaver) are, for once, at a total loss on how to help him and are forced to stand by and do nothing while Sam breaks. The battle for heaven comes to a head. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eric Kripke.

Hey guys

Well, both Nat & I had to wait clear until almost 11pm to watch because Giants baseball went into overtime. But it was worth it.

The 2nd episode, the season ender, was hands down one of the top episodes of SPN I have ever seen. It was insular, suspenseful, & surprising. & dark. It was everything SPN should be, & then amped up. I know we're going to be talking about this for weeks, & I do need to watch both episodes again, before I make a more complete review.

I know LC! I'm a Giants fan so I loved the game but I wanted it to end already. I only watched the first half because I had to get to bed but I'm gonna watch the 2nd half now and I'll be back with my review

So I finally finished the whole thing.
The first hour!

It was really really good! I didn't think I would enjoy the Lisa and Ben stuff that much but I did, and I was so pissed when Crowley took them but I should have seen that coming. I'm glad though that Dean didn't go right away and forgive Cas because whether what Cas is doing is right he still betrayed Dean and Sam and I'm still upset with him. The ending when Dean got to Lisa and Ben it shocked the hell out of me that she was possessed seriously didn't see that coming at all! And then she stabbed Lisa, I flipped out! I'm not really a fan of that storyline but I still didn't want her to die. The scene in the hospital with Cas when he saved her and Dean asked for one more favor broke my heart. What he did was completely selfless and I get his reasoning but damn that had to hurt him so much.
Second Hour:
I effin hate Castiel right now! I can't believe that it was him that took down Sammy's wall, it just shows how much he is willing to do to get what he wants. It was so hard for me to watch that. The whole scenes inside Sam's head where he was trying to find and kill the pieces of himself to get back together were done amazingly! I was so confused and so scared as to what was happening but it was done so well, very intense.
It was hard watching Dean stand over a lifeless Sammy again, we don't need anymore of that!!!
I was happy to see that Cas was trying to betray Crowley, I was hoping that he wouldn't let Crowley get the souls, but never underestimate Crowley. The whole scenes with Raphael were amazing and I was so glad that Cas ended up tricking them. But then he opened the door on his own and took in all those souls that is freaking crazy! Dean is right though he needed to give those souls back where they belong, he stopped Raphael and that was supposed to be his goal but now he is just to hyped up on the power. When Sammy showed up and stabbed Cas I flipped out because I thought that would work but apparently not. Its good to see even with the wall down Sam is still functioning to a point but you can still see all the pain there behind his eyes and I'm sure they will focus more on that next season.
And Cas is God now? No way they are bowing down to him.

As I'm in UK and watch online I just skipped right to ep 22, alot more interested in Sam's souless story than Dean's domestic crisis.
I thought Jared did an excellant job, the fact he would have had to play each version of Sam twice (presumaly whilst he was being one Sam, his stunt double was the other Sam and vice versa), would have been emotionally and pysically draining. When Sam had killed soulless Sam and HellSam his determination to get to Dean and Bobby, even though he was having flashbacks was lovely to see.

I can take or leave Castiel (Bye Misha), when he is on I suffer him but don't miss him when he isn't there, so when Sam stabbed him I was "yes" but it wasn't to be. I just thank god we didn't see Sam, Dean and Bobby bow to Castiel.

I do like Crowley, I don't know if it is he accent or he has just been written really well.

I watched Ep 21 this morning and thought the ending "You mention Lisa and Ben again and I'll punch you on the nose" was really heart-rending. Trouble is we have never really since the extent of Dean/Lisa/Ben relationship so it was hard to know how Dean felt, but the fact he had tears in his eyes when he told Sam to not talk about them said enough and Sam knows his brother well enough to know when to leave things alone.

I have been following the tweets from the convention in Germany and apparently Jared was given a standing ovation at the start of his panel, I hope it was for the finale.
He also got groped by some woman and she was made to leave the convention.

So we finally get to see series 6 in UK starting June 8th, so I can watch them all over again.

To answer your question about the standing ovation. It wasn´t because the finale (also he really would have deserved one for this). Most of the audience hadn´t the time or chance to watch the finale during the convention and for that matter didn´t know what an amazing job Jared did in the finale.

It was because of this "so called" fan and what she did to Jared - with kissing him in the middle of his face even if he told her not to do it. And this incident happened just before his solo panel. So the standing ovation was a thank you that he showed up and to show him how much we respect and love him. (To read my full con report go to the Padackles thread.)

I have just read your full report on padackles and really enjoyed it. I enjoy reading reports that favour both guys, some people just write about the one they like the best and ignore the other one, so your report was refreshing.

Presumably after the kiss incident, Jared would have been able to hear what the announcer said before he got on stage, that led to the standing ovation but it must still have been a very moving moment for Jared
