Ruby (guest star Genevieve Cortese) tells Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) that a powerful demon named Alastair (guest star Mark Rolston) is searching for a girl named Anna (guest star Julie McNiven) who can hear the angels' conversations.

The three set out to find Anna but once they do, Alastair attacks them and Ruby escapes with the girl. Believing they were set up, Dean lashes out at Sam for trusting Ruby, so Sam tells him what happened during those months Dean was in Hell and how Ruby saved his life.

Castiel (guest star Misha Collins) and Uriel (guest star Robert Wisdom) return and demand to be taken to Anna but not for the reason Dean thinks.

Charles Beeson directed the episode written by Sera Gamble.

...So, hows everyone doing? Hehe. That was pretty intense, pretty dark, pretty twisted and pretty weird.

It was also pretty good.

I'll just wave Sam/Ruby because the scene was hot and I don't want to go into the issues of dead/possessed body thing any more. I already thought about this possible scenario and I'm not okay with it morally, but it's canon, it's done, it's over.

I loved that we were FINALLY filled in with what happened.

Sam looked absolutely destroyed. It was so sad to watch him aimlessly trying to sell his soul, screaming, desperate, willing to die, willing to waste his life away, etc. I'll probably rewatch this sequence over and over again.

That scene with the crossroads demon was fantastic. It broke. my. heart.

Sam fixing his wound? Gross. That fake blood always gets me. Fixing Dean's shoulder? Ouch. I have a nice scar on my shoulder because I needed surgery after breaking the entire structure of my shoulder, so I know your pain, Dean. It's horrible. Poor kid.

The episode was awesome. 10/10. I hope everyone else at least enjoyed it!

I'm Mandi. I never post here, but I decided it's about time with the Sam-centric ep we got tonight (finally!!). I will have more or a review later. Lots to process from tonight's ep that I am still thinking over. I think Jared did a fantastic job, though. I just love him.

Ya Nikki, it was a super intense episode and very dark. But I loved every minute of it. I'll save my Sam/Ruby for that thread as well.

I loved that we got to find out what happened in the six months for Sammy without Dean. He was in such a dark place, it was just hard for him to go on without Dean knowing there was nothing he could do to bring him back. Watching the scene at the crossroads and seeing how much Sam just wanted to die was absolutely heartbreaking.
Everything else about this ep was great, I'm glad that even though Dean hates Ruby and didn't trust her after hearing Sam's story and watching her save that girl that he sort of apologized to her. That was really awesome of him and I hope that is able to heal up a lot of the gap between the brothers lately.
I am also hoping now that Sammy has shared so much about those six months that Dean might be willing to share a little too. We will see.
As for the angels wanting to kill Anna, that's just crap. I understand she's a liability if the demons ever get their hands on her but all the more reason to protect her. Can't wait til next week and how Sam and Dean react to them wanting to kill Anna
